The R2 looks great so far.

I only bought one SSC R2 and was a bit disappointed with the underscale aspect, so didn't get R5 or the black droids. Hopefully the HT R2 will remedy that (hard to say right now) and release variants too.

Could it be a metal dome?

Doesn't look significantly better than the Tamashi one i already have. I don't care for the red arm, but i would have liked an alternate set of hips, which would have allowed a sitting posture. A much need accessory if the Falcon cockpit or cargo hold come about.
