Having worked on shows with good actors that don't look the part and those that do but can't act, I will go with the good actors every time.

In the comics and cartoons, Thor has always been both bigger and taller...and this is what disappoints me with the upcoming Thor movie. He's just not big and thick enough in the chest, arms, and thighs.

Anyway, I'll step off my soapbox now and share a couple of pics:

I agree, i would rather he was bigger (and more bearded!) but on the other hand people said Hugh Jackman was too lanky to play Wolverine and most people seem to love his portrayal now... I'm gonna have to withold judgement until I see the movie.

Absolutely agree with you. And to be fair, I wasn't talking about acting ability. Only appearance.

Once Thor puts on his costume, they could have easily used their movie magic to create the thickness Thor needs. A muscle suit, for example. They did this with Superman Returns. Or use some CG or whatever else they have at their disposal.

For the Thor movie, I guess it'll be fine. Once The Avengers rolls around, they better use their movie magic.

I don't think so.

All I see in that pic is Scarlett's ba-danka-danks :nana:

I don't think so.

I was commenting mainly on people's posts about using wrestlers and stuff. Not directed at you.

He's the new Bruce Banner.

And judging from that pic, Hemsworth is still clearly the tallest.

I think Hemsworth personally looks the part as is. I don't need Thor to look like Triple H to pull it off.

And that's fair. Many fans are happy with Thor's appearance.

As for me, I'll have to wait and see when The Avengers comes out.

I would've preferred that Thor's armor was a bit more battle worn and metallic looking as opposed to the plasticky look they went with in the film. Hopefully fixed for the Avengers.

And a great example that is--Alan Davis, FTW!!

Yeah, Jackman is way too tall for Wolvie, but he was a great choice because he had everything else the role required.

I've basically been referring to the appearance of Thor and Cap in the movies.

oh I don't expect much to change other than outfits. Actors won't be changing unless something drastic happens.

So are you not planning on seeing Thor and Cap in the theaters?
