HT are taking there time on this

Thor was out in cinemas in May and the fig will be released in june, Captain America will be released soon and HT hasnt even given the specs and pics yet

Hot Toys was quoted in saying that they were trying something new with Thor, pushing the figure through production quickly to coinside with the film's release. They wanted the figure out in May. Cap was never given that kind of stress so I'm sure it's on the docket with all the other HT releases. I don't think HT is taking any more time on this than any other figure save maybe Superman and Avatar folk.

Thor has some issues but if it's viewed as a success, then you might see HT pushing for release at the same time as film releases but they've been mum since originally making the statement.

I so was hoping to see reveal pictures with this thread pulled up to the first page. Now dissapointment has set in. My most anticipated figure ever and it is taking forever. Thor's release timing set the bar too high and impatience is killing me.

The 3 3/4 figures have now been released at BBTS. They look cool. I really hope we see the Hot Toys in the next few weeks.........

Me too. I also wish they would improve quality control on all their figures before packing and shipping.

If he's in a damn rubber suit, there is a very strong chance I won't pick him up. I'm sick of that immobile crap. If I didn't want him to be poseable, I would just get the PF/Maquette Sideshow's gonna make.

Doesn't fit HT's MO to do that. They'll re-hash or complement existing figures with SDCC exclusives, but not something like the core character from a potentially lucrative line that isn't a repaint/variant.

the only way I'm not buying this one is if the likeness is completely ____ or there's a glaring problem. even if the film sucks ass I'm still gonna pick cap up!

I haven't heard specifically, but I wouldn't be surprised if likeness approval is holding up this fig's reveal.

HT had a lot headaches with Downey's Tony Stark sculpt approval.
Evans may be similar . . .

I concur. Another Appleseed rubber suit would suck the root.
The ballistic nylon look of the movie costume makes me think HT will be using tailored fabrics, which of course they excell at. Look at Blade, Ezio, etc.



And as for the film sucking . . . the trailer I saw attached to Thor seemed pretty damn impressive, IMHO.

Agreed. Hot Toys is really good with their multimedia pieces. Looks like Cap will need this same approach.

With regards to the Cap movie trailer...I just hope what we saw in 30 seconds wasn't the whole movie. But I've got high hopes for this one.

Two things. 1: I don't see Evans having the clout that Downey would have in this kind of thing. 2: The likeness issue didn't hold up the Iron Man showing or ordering just release. Cap for the most part has Evans face covered by the cowl so they could show that sculpt without much issue and blur out the Evans sculpt like they did with the Stark sculpt for the Mark IV or VI. They could go Alice and cover the face or even show off teasers of the back of the figure with shield. If this is being held up I'm wagering it's a prototype issue and less an actor's gripes

Like someone mentioned before, I don't think that it's that hard to screw up a sculpt that has half a mask covering it...but then again, I've seen a couple of Batmans that look nothing like Bale...I think the most important thing is nailing the uniform and shield...If they pull it off it'll be a must-buy...hopefully the delay in prototype pics is due to them taking their time to perfect it...but I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!!
