Well, unlike CelticP, I still love the AVP designs through and through. Not trying to justify any spending here, they just had their own unique style and were more like the full-suited combat team of Preds. Fully-kitted and armed. The HT figures and the actual designs rock in my eyes. The movie was pretty good too IMO.

:exactly: Blade I totally agree, and just wanted to add, that, its not so much about justifying spending on figures that others hate, such as the AVP preds. No justification needed, people buy things that they like. I think thats enough of a reason, and when someone buys something, he should NOT need to be subject to accusations like "oh hes praising a s_hit figure and just justifying his purchase". Because excuse me, but someone's grail could be someone's trash, and that goes both ways so everyone should just enjoy what he enjoys and back off on the finger pointing

:lecture :exactly:

A resculpt for this classic would be awesome ..but in a way it's a shame that baloo's awesome bio is based on the original p1 sculpt, i would buy one of i new the classic would have the same shaped sculpt as the p1..but hey who know's hot toys may make a good bio this time.

I honestly like the way HT Berserker turned out better than the Movie counterpart. Even when watching the movie I thought the design was awesome but when he unmasked himself, I thought the head looked Giiiiiinormous. I'm glad HT made it smaller and "less accurate". And in my opinion HT improved upon the movie design because they gave the predator idealized proportions rather than the ones from the movie.

Yeah, I remember the first time I saw Berserker's face in the movie I thought it was huge!
I guess HT figured, if they were to make a removable biomask for those dimensions the figure would end up looking like a bobblehead. :D

Have there been any indications that the biomask would be battle damaged?
It would need to have the top right piece broken off as well as the portion next to the left eye.
Just wondering...

Ive got to add to the debate.I love the slim look they gave the super predators. It really gave them a wicked look to them.On hot toys making things 100% movie look would be cool too.But until the hates get some sculpting skills and make there perfect predator be happy. Not hating but hands down i couldnt make these figures and if that artist puts there touch to it,dont be surprised.....

I hate to say this, but I think whoever sculpted the super preds should have been the creative pred designer of the movie IMO. I like the hot toys sculpt interpretation better than the movie's portrayal of the super pred.

The movie super pred's face looked like some sort of alien blob/squid like creature from a B movie. It looked nothing like it's classic pred cousin. I know the two preds,(Classic and super), were supose to be completely different, but there should have been some similarities in their facial features to tie these two breeds together. Afterall, they are suppose to be somewhat related right? The hot toys sculptor managed to maintain and preserve the predator-like features in the classic and apply them successfully to the super pred design better than Rodriguez. And no, I'm not a hater of the Predators movie; in fact, I thought the predators movie was decent and entertaining.

Maybe it wasn't intentional on their part, and maybe it was just a botched job, but who cares? I like the way it turned out, so I bought it.
then why not just say that in the first place instead of using the figure to passive-aggressively bash the character you don't like?

you're beating a dead horse now and you still don't get that i don't care if people like the figure or not. but ok.

If I recall from the Director commentary on the film it was mentioned that at the last minute he wanted (one or all) of the helmets to be larger. I would say that ended up effecting the head size too so if I had to guess HT was working off of the final approved concepts but the head size was changed during production and too late to incorporate into the final product.

Or HT just wanted smaller heads. I do think in person the Berserker looks great and not misproportioned.

there's a masked head on top of the monitor in the pic but it isn't damaged. it's still being sculpted so we'll have to wait for newer pics to see the battle damaged part i guess.

This forum is to discuss the awesomeness of our collectibles and this specific thread is to speculate Classic pred in the make, but why more and more of such threads filled with arguments which make me tired reading all those pages filled with argument and debates instead of informative discussion... :)

None the less Berserker Predator is perfectly Proportional either with or without mask :)

Whats all this bull____ about passive-aggressively bashing? I never bashed anything, and in context of this discussion, I don't even know why you keep using that phrase. I just don't like how you equate everyone who says he likes a figure (which you don't like) to an idiot who parts with his money. All I'm trying to say is lets all keep these obviously argument-inducing remarks out.

I'm not beating on a dead horse, you are the one that continues to insist on pointing a finger at every slightest thing that you disagree on.

And for the love of god, I was talking to Blade. I didn't even remember who he was responding to. In my comment to him, I did not point you out, or was not addressing you. I was telling him that I agreed with him, and that we shouldn't have to defend ourselves for liking something. Why are you singling me out for a lecture?

I was replying to CelticP in my comment. Now, what prefused said made me think of something. If he really didn't care (like he said he doesn't), then he wouldn't jump to conclusions whenever people praise an older Pred. Interestingly, that still happens. Or at least, it's happened many times before. But back on topic...

I'd hope for a Classic purely because I'm curious as to how HT would handle an old-style Pred with their new build. We've seen the new bodies on the Super-Preds, so it'll be cool to see if/how they apply that concept to Classic. Having the standard dual wrist blades made of real metal would also be nice. And, of course, we can hope they'll redo the head sculpt and possibly add quills like they did with the new ones.

Same old, same old. Hey, at least we're not dealing with Selectiv at the moment :lol.
