Not going to lie, I personally didn't like the skinny leg Gamorrean guards in the ring that much.

I mean they're meant to represent pigs right. So they should be big and fat.

They looked like cheap cosplayers to me.

If budget was the issue, I would have gone with one on the door instead of the dude we got.

Thin Gamorreans and fat Fett/Bib all felt off. And Khev is right that they could have at least been consistent with the Jawas. This isn't a low budget entertainment company.

As an aside I am kinda surprised HT hasn't made off world Jawas yet.

I always thought the ones they just released were offworld Jawas because of the red eyes. But I see in the description they are ANH Jawas. That's a pretty big fail there. Thanks for orange rheinstones I guess.

After the reception of the initial Jawa release, they're probably avoiding doing Jawas for now, lol.

Yep, but it's HT own fault. The Jawa release had multiple issues, was way overpriced, and frankly should have been a two pack of Jawas.

I HATE the shows Gamoreans! Being skinny is the least of it's issues as you could argue they are 'athletes' and not Bouncers. What worries me about HT doing OT characters from this show is that these are the only versions they will do and we'll be stuck with inferior figures.

It's not being lazy it's financial sense. About $15 million per episode, which is better to do? Reuse the skinny GG for about two seconds on screen or invest thousands of dollars to make two fat GG? Plenty of things will be reused.

They spend millions on episodes like you say, they can spend thousands on costumes. That seems well within their budget.

Absolutely agree, they look ridiculous. I don't know how you screw it up that much.

The concept statue does not look as bad as the on-set version, which really did not translate well. Just looks like a generic Halloween orc costume.

Despite the high production costs allowed for the show, I chalk it up at least partially to the budget, which may not have allowed for making a better Gamorrean because the money (which is not infinite, even for this show) was needed elsewhere.

We've been spoiled by the various aliens, costumes, armor, droids, and set pieces that look higher quality than they normally would be because they've been recycled from full film productions like Rogue One and Solo.

Mandalorian has one of the highest budgets per episode of any show so budget is not the reason here. Especially when you look at what much cheaper sci-fi shows have done with costumes and the savings the Volume gives them over traditional effects and location shooting. Compare to the Expanse for example, whose effects easily eclipse those of the Mandalorian and whose budget is reported up to $5m per episode and you can see the Mandalorian can easily afford some more accurate pig costumes (which they knew could and will be reused for future projects).

But in looking at the budgets of these shows I found Wandavision has a staggering $25m per episode vs Madalorians $15m. Sure a lot will go to salary for some of the bigger stars, but looking at what's on screen I'd say they've been ripped off on that one.

It sounds like we'll be getting another Rebels character in live-action. Hera Syndulla replacing Joan of Arc as main lead in the Rangers of the New Republic. Weird how we might end up with most of the main Rebels cast in Hot Toys form. Never thought that would happen. Still, it's a little sad that we'll likely never see the best of the bunch, Kanan, realised as a Hot Toys figure.

Also, Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand from Game of Thrones), added to the Kenobi cast.

Nice, I like Hera, I assume we'll see more of Jacen as well then, I wonder if he ends up being force sensitive. Might also lead to an official Chopper figure.

Maybe that would be a way to bring Luke into the show, having him train Jacen along with Grogu, and God forbid Ben Solo.

I'm far more excited for the possibilities of this show now than I was before a certain person departed as the main lead. It's a blessing in disguise.

IIRC Ben is only 4 at this point, and didn't go with Luke until he was around 10 years old so safe to say we probably wouldn't see Ben at all. Jacen would be about 9 though.

Ah, okay fair enough. Still, it's been suggested a time-jump might happen for Mando season 3, so it's possible all shows might take place in a later timeline. I'm no fan of the ST, well at least the last 2 films, but it would've been quite cool to see more of young Ben. Easily the most interesting character to come out of those films. Or should I say the only interesting character?

Yeah I like Ben/Kylo, shame they wasted him. The Rise of Kylo Ren comic arc is pretty good though.

Budget may not be the only reason, but budget considerations are always going to be factored into a production of any scale. A movie that costs hundreds of millions of dollars may still have things cut or cheapened because of the budget.

And The Mandalorian already does a lot with funds allocated to it.

There are likely other factors like the design, fabricators, actor/stunt person safety, etc. But they may just not have wanted to spend a lot of money on a costume for the very, very brief and not terribly significant scene showing the Gamorrean fighters.
