I don?t recall ever seeing Hot Toys just release a figure for sale out of the blue. Even the Sith Trooper was announced a little while before SDCC.

That's what I thought and then I saw people posting an exclusive D23 Captain America on facebook.

I believe Dooku and AOTC Yoda were both announced and put up for preorder out of the blue.

McGregor. Best aspect of prequels for me.

McGregor was the best thing in the prequels despite Obi-Wan being written as a complete dumbass. The other bright spot in that black hole of a trilogy was McDiarmid hamming it up as Palpatine. So much fun to watch.

Do you think they'll do a figure for both his initial armor (the one at D23) and the more finished armor we see later in the BTS vid? Hoping they do both as it would be a cool display...

So long as the show is a hit I'd say yes definitely. Were talking the company who does neon tech versions of Iron Man, plus all the other Mks.

I think the second armour is more silver if I recall correctly. I seem to like this initial version better though. The earthy tones fir Tatooine better imo.

He and IG-11 are shoe-ins I'd say. The more I see of Cara Dune the more I hope they make her. That'd be a nice trio for one shelf. However, she could just as easily go the way of Cassian and Qi'ra.

Definitely Tatooine. Twin suns, water evaporators and Jawa Sandcrawlers !!.....hence Hot Toys preview Jawas and a Power droid. Just need a Tusken Raider now !

Definitely Tatooine. Twin suns, water evaporators and Jawa Sandcrawlers !!.....hence Hot Toys preview Jawas and a Power droid. Just need a Tusken Raider now !

And R5. There's something so magical about Tatooine and its inhabitants. The beauty of him being a bounty hunter is he can planet hop and have Tatooine as a base. There are several seasons of potential story here. Hopefully you get your wish with the Tuskens and maybe we'll see them in the trailer later on.

Haha is that what I also said for Obi-Wan? If it was up to me I'd have every series and film based on Tatooine or Coruscant.

Nah, just reminded me of how similar these two series could be as far as setting on Tatooine. I just hope we don't get Tatooined out !!

At first glance it would make sense to release The Mandalorian now with D23, however there would be probably more hype when the actual show comes out and they ride that hype-wave to pick up orders from people other than core HT fans & collectors.

Hell, I'd rather be overloaded with Tatooine than Tatooine rip-off planets like Jakku and Pasanaa.

I'm hoping we get him for D23, or soon, but I'm happy to be patient as we'll more than likely see him on or around Force Friday. Although, saying that, there appears to be some Mandalorian D23 early release material (e.g. Funko Pop), so Disney have clearly given the go-ahead for companies.

Some bad news, according to CNET and Gamespot the only panels Disney are live streaming are the Legends Ceremony and the Costuming panel. That is beyond dumb if true.

Thinking about it, Obi-Wan series could spin off from The Mandalorian. How great would a Obi-Wan cameo be in next season's finale to lauch his own series?

I stand corrected. Forgot Mandalorian isn't set before ANH but after ROTJ. Would have been a nice way to lauch Obi-Wan though.
