You will never convince me that a decision was not made to turn Fett into a hero.

They addressed this in the Gallery and admitted that's what they did.

Coming out of the Sarlacc was the life changing excuse they used, because they couldn't make a series about a villain.

Favreau:

"As much fun as it is to think about a character who has questionable morality, blasting his way through the galaxy, that only goes so far. You can't really explore storylines. It sounds good, but when you actually zoom in and explore what's going on with that character, if that character is just a lawless character who is doing really cool action sequences, that's not Star Wars. Star Wars has to be about each character facing certain obstacles, usually emotional ones as well as physical ones. There may be a villain you're facing off, but if there's no internal conflict going on with the character you're losing half of what makes it impactful. And so we found a way hopefully to preserve the edginess of the character...but still show that the character has learned the lesson of time and experience."

*screams*

Then why make a series about one, leave him on Jabba's throne and just leave him alone. Let us wonder what went down next, or cover that in the comics where they're much less politically correct and villains rampage on the regular. AS THEY SHOULD

I knew I didnt watch that Gallery for a reason, that the outrage would be strong with that one

That worked just fine for Mando.
And a huge pile of "Legends" books and comics about Boba.
Sounds like an excuse from Favreau.

Sounds like they were short of decent writers.
Definitely. What Favreau defined could've been done quite well with Fett being mostly lawless but succumbing to bouts of morality...oh wait, they blew that load on the Mandalorian. Yeah, should've left him on the throne or maybe had him come back in S3 of Mando as someone compelled to come to Mando's aid due to his code. The show was just poorly written, directly and as someone stated earlier, the costume designer was terrible.

Yep I think this is closer to the truth. The original Mando for Faverau was Fett, but someone didn't like that idea at the outset. Now for Fett to upstage or be the same as Mando would just not be OK. Ego's might get hurt, fans might rebel and call it the same stuff as Mando.

So they tried to make a different angle work, without much success. I mean they even had to bring in Mando and Luke into the show because they ran out of ideas with Fett.

I still hold to my idea of playing it in reverse. i.e instead of the *****, have Fett go on Bounty Hunting rampages in live action then learn at the "end" of the series that "family" like Fennic are important. That's also a character arc.

It could have worked. If they have particularly showed how much time he spent in Sarlac and with Tusken tribe.
When watched, it seems like it took around 2-3 weeks until the Tuskens were killed and it looks weirdly short for a 180 degrees of change of heart.
I know it took longer but this should have been explicitly shown.

For those interested in the Jedi: Fallen Order games, it appears the title of the second game is Jedi: Survivor.

A massive change of subject here, but I didn't know where else to ask. Does anyone know what happened to that Sixth Scale Economist guy on Youtube? I saw some R.I.P. comments under his last video. I just thought someone on here might know him or know of his current situation.
No idea, used to watch him but he vanished about a year ago?

Why couldn’t it have been about putting together a great crime family (i.e. the space Corleone family), with Boba as the Don, and not the weakling he was out of the box?

Why not? Why can't they make a show about a villain? If done cleverly enough Fett could still be portrayed as a likable villain of sorts who could do the occasional good deed when it suits him. He is supposed to be a ruthless character who lends his services to the highest bidder no matter their motive.

Favreau now literally confirms that his appearance in The Mandalorian was essentially bait and switch, a lie told on screen to get people excited about a show they never intended to create.

Imagine how much better the confrontation with Cad Bane would have been. Two villains battling it out.

It could have and should have been a great show about the mysterious and villainous bounty hunter Star Wars fans have been anticipating since the rocket firing Kenner figure that wasn't. Such a shame Lucasfilm has been overrun by complete effing dimwits who can't see beyond their own agendas.

After seeing The Mandalorian I thought there was hope for course correction after the awful Sequel Trilogy but now I seriously doubt it. Kennedy's Lucasfilm clearly has seething contempt for the OT, it's legacy characters, and it's fans.

So, what are people’s predictions for AOTC wave 2?

I think it’ll just be the release of the five previewed AOTC prototypes: Mace, Padmé, Kit Fisto, Super Battle Droid & Phase 1 Clone Commander. That’d be a 9/10 bunch of releases imo. I think AOTC Anakin and Kenobi will release during the Kenobi show.

The dream scenario…

Ha, I dont think we will get any of those characters. Not even one of them, not even a clone! I think that blurb was to deflect anger and now HT thinks we're in a Mobius' Loop of waiting patiently forever for stuff that might or might not appear.

*flat affect* Put up or shut up HT
