Don’t come in here with your realism buddy 😂 You’re right, I could easily see three of your predictions being correct. Swap out Ventress for life-size Grogu and you might get a full house.

I have no idea why I'm holding onto this Ventress prediction lol. I just finished the Brotherhood book, so maybe that is why.

It is so not happening.

At this point, I'd even by OK with a Sideshow Gamorean re-release. So long as he can stand OK without crotch grabber.
Holding out a bit of hope for that myself. They tend to do something sixth scale for May 4th, and their animated CW line is a train wreck. Maybe they’ll finally give us that sixth scale Max Rebo Band they said was coming years ago. Another prime candidate for Gentle Giant. They could upscale that old band set they did, which goes for a pretty penny on eBay. Collections are built on hope and all that.

@SOU7567 Sadly it feels like more of a candidate for the uninspiring SS animated line. I heard someone say the other day that they'd canceled the Cad Bane, so I wonder if we'll even see anything more from that line. Not that they can blame lack of interest for that, it's all on them and their cutting corners on Anakin and Obi-Wan. If you mess up the centrepiece characters of a line people will have no interest in what follows. Sorry for the mini rant!

It is a bit concerning that after all this time their Cad Bane still has not gone up for order, maybe we'll see an update about it on Thursday for the 4th.

The line has been a disaster for them, which is a good thing for my wallet, but they had such a money maker on their hands and they completely fumbled it.

Going back to Ventress though, yeah I don't see it happening at all, but she's my dark horse pick, it was between her or Cal. Ventress would really spice up the Separatist display as they continue to add to that faction.

It's still very unclear what they mean by Clone Wars 20th. Looks like they either got mixed up or they just vaguely connected the shows as an excuse for releasing a bunch of clones.

Looking at other brands, it’s pretty clear; it’s definitely the latter. It’s the anniversary of the Tartakovsky series but the marketing directive probably said anything Clone Wars era. So far it’s been broadly TCW focused.

As much as I’d also love to see CW 2003 ARCs, those would fall into the pleasant surprise if they happen category unfortunately. But there will be more cool Clone figures announced either way at least.

I have a feeling we've seen all the human/humanoid CW characters we'll see from Hot Toys. Unless they have a Temuera Morrison headsculpt. As much as I'd love a Ventress or Savage, I just don't see it sadly. The best chance we have could be some of those PT Jedi, releasing them under the Clone Wars name and using the movie likeness. They'll probably take the easy option and just give us more clones. Which is fine as long as they're giving us some of the more appealing clones like Wolffe, Doom, Fox, Gregor, the 212th, Wolfpack, Fives & Echo etc.

Funnily enough, I’d like a figurine of Grogu hugging the anzellan :lol I wouldn’t mind if it comes in a new accessory pack, or even with a Mando S3 figure.

Never a fan of these guys, but after this moment I have a new found respect for them...

I'd like to think that was a ''subtle'' message from Favreau to Disney :ROFLMAO:

What’s everyone doing for May 4th then?

My plan is…

1) A New Hope (despecialised)
2) ESB (special edition)
3) ROTJ (despecialised)
4) Taratovsky’s Clone Wars

Then the prequels on Revenge of the 5th.

Dream on! You reason like Hot Toys is still driven by demand, innovation and creativity!

We’ll get a standard battle droid, a clone commander and finally something from the Mandalorian. Maybe IG-12 with Grogu?

What exactly does that have to do with my post?

That’s my watchlist not my figure wishlist. I was just wondering what others are up to on the day for the purpose of making chit chat.

Agreed. I think the only real surprise that could happen would be something without a sculpt like a cool new droid. A Magnaguard would be awesome… but probably too much effort.

As a Clone fan, I’m generally always happy about more Clone figures. But I still believe those releases need to be balanced out with characters because fatigue does set in eventually.

So it would be nice if they gave us a bit more variety. Most of the alien Jedi, Savage, and Ventress would be good candidates because they don’t require dealing with a real person’s likeness. But like you said, it’s probably not going to happen because that’s like, way too much work. :lol

Oh nothing, Took it as a list of what you want from HT. Which I would be happy to see, but low probability. I look at everything here through hot toys/1:6 goggles.

Nice watchlist. Ambitious to watch it all! Love your enthusiasm. Will try to watch something out of OT.

You think battle droids and clone commanders are not in demand?
Sure. But they’ll kill their own market by just releasing that. Clones are contagious and we’ve just taste-tested the droids.

What is highly sought after, is sculpted characters and new innovative techniques. Look at what InArt is doing, everything is not perfected but at least they’re trying out something new. Or, let’s the market try it out. When I received the standard Joker, I was blown away by the realism, intriguing packaging and instructions/information sheets and the magnetic hand thingy. Higher price but also higher quality.

Moveable eyes is now expected with every HT sculpted headsculpt due to competition w InArt. A win win.

HT made a rough phase I draft and never cared to fix its scaling and mouth piece. Just stamped it as “good enough”, now every phase I iteration is produced sharing same fault/error/lack-of-care/lack-of-continuous-improvements/customer-value, an eyesore priced at a premium. Good enough.

Actually, I do agree with that.

Even though my wife and I have a major Clone focused collection, I still feel Hot Toys should try to keep Clones spaced out with more characters in between.

They’ve been mostly doing that, even though I know the temptation to up the pace must always be there.

But oversaturation and lack of variety is eventually partly what killed off the Sideshow Clone line. It peaked with Wolffe and the ARCs but jumped the shark with the Ordinance Clone. People were just tired after dozens of Clones back to back. I think Hot Toys knows that though, since they would’ve been watching.

A few named Clones and a couple of Clone Trooper varieties a year is enough. They also need to introduce more variants than just repaints like the Commandos, Marines, and Scouts.

And most importantly, they need to mix it up by making good character selections and not just other kinds of troopers and droids. Otherwise it’ll lead to not only Clone fatigue, but mass fatigue for the whole line as well.

Inart vs HT thing is really like your typical Audi vs the 911. You get more for what you paid for. I could care less about packaging. You pay more $ and you are at the mercy of those that are handling your parcel. Magnetic hands and feet are cool but personally, I don't mess with my figures much so I rather spend $ on another figure than getting magnetic hands. Nothing wrong, just different types of customers.

Personally, I want the 2 Inquisitors they teased but I know chances are slim to none, even though they spent the money developing them. While it is not innovation, it's something different and new.
