Thank you to whoever pointed out that the lips on the HT sculpt were what was throwing the sculpt off. I was racking my brains trying to figure it out. Also, that Tom cruise glare is really sexy. I wonder what hamil thinks about the sculpt?
^^ That is absolutely spot on. I wonder if Lucasfilm similarly rejected attempts at a more accurate DX Luke (and, dare I suggest it, Indiana Jones?).

Who is rejecting these sculpts?
Has George finally gone completely bonkers now.
"Yes it looks like Mark Hamill. But Mark Hamill does not look much like Luke Skywalker ...he was merely the closet available human I could find at the time. The sculpts will now reflect what I perceive Luke to look like"
But the actor IS the character. It's not like these were books or something before they were movies. The movies came first and that's how people see these characters. If it weren't the case, the illustrations on books, etc, wouldn't look like the actors that portrayed these characters.
I just think LFL doesn't want accurate looking resemblances so they can continue to make more money with future versions.
Its all in the nostrils
I can definitely see this point as well....I wonder if the actors collect royalties from their likeness? Or were these signed away years ago?
I actually, partially, agree with this. They rejected SS's Bespin Luke and Mace that were spot on. Especially Mace.
If it's perfect you'll hardly buy it again in five years.
Here's hoping HT TOD Indy and ROTJ Luke are better than the current figures!
Although I think the BD Luke head is good, and the EX Vader head seems almost spot on.
Once again, the ex. head and the regular head are the Same. Damn. Head. Sculpt.
Then kudos to the photographer for making the headsculpt look better. Maybe its the lack of hair...
