I think Star Wars is a license they can hit at any time. It always will be in demand. No movie necessary. And HT knows this.
:exactly:

If anything - now is an EXCELLENT time for HT to flex their muscle.

Most of SSC's human figures are let downs - apart from a couple of noteworthy exceptions, the Medicom figures are generally too stylized & insultingly expensive for what you get, & so there couldn't be a better time for HT really. :lecture

Agreed 1000%. I held off a long time getting into SS Star Wars figures because I didn't like their human likenesses, or more appropriately, their paint jobs. I have almost all of their alien and OT armored figures though, and when the HT announcement was made, I was really hoping that they'd at least get all of the main characters out to compliment what I already have.

Ideally I'd like to see HT tackle Han, Leia, and Obi-Wan in the near future.

^^^:exactly: That is all I need from them and Ill be more than content.

Oh and Chewie. (either SS or HT)

I'd never want a SSC Chewie. :monkey1 :lol

Well, if their past Alien releases are anything to attest to, then Id hope SSC would show Chewie the same amount of love they have shown:

Mowma Nadon
Gamorrean Guard
Greedo
Yoda
Bossk
Tusken Raider

etc.

Of course I would rather have a HT version, but since HT cant do characters SS hasnt done yet, there wont be a choice in the matter.

Unless SS says "Go for it"...

None of those are covered head to toe in fur either. :huh :lol

Nope, but what Im saying is if SS is showing this much love and attention to detail with these releases, I dont see why Chewey would be any exception.

Maybe SS will have HT help with the release? Who knows. All I know is Chewey is essential.

I've never agreed with that line of thought. SW is finite.

The older-timer OT crowd certainly keeps things going, but they're old and getting old. More and more are leaving the game. Likewise, the PT crowd is no where near the same type of fanbase and I don't think (even as they get older) they will be able to support SW the way that the OT fans have.

Old school fans have nostaglia for action figures and play sets, so things like HT are great for them because it reminds them of the past. New school kids have grown up on cell phone games and reality tv, they probably don't care about action figures.

Seriously, look at eFX, GG, even SSC - alot of their stuff peg/shelf warms. It's not like SW is so hot that people have to scramble to buy things anymore. Very little of it sells out super-quick - that's a sign that the game is changing for SW. Like it or not the next few years are going to be dominated by Marvel, DC, and LOTR. SW will always be around, but take a look at most online or retail stores - SW isn't doing all that well.

I think you are greatly underestimating the power of Star Wars. Nothing, I dont think, has created as large of a universe or fan base that Star Wars has. Is anything "infinite", I dont think so, but I dont see Star Wars fading into nothingness any time soon. The Baby Boomers and the generations following that grew up in the 80's (myself) and the 90's know and love the Original Trilogy. And me being in my early thirties, I still plan to love SW till I die (which hopefully is decades to come).

Im a fan of Marvel, DC and LOTR, too, but I dont see any of those having as huge a fan base as what Star Wars has. Its more "flavor of the month" or "hype band wagon" with those properties. I dont see those franchises having the same stamina as SW. Ever.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. At a certain point, the OT crowd will die. Literally. Few fans of the OT are being created right now. Sure, OOT freaks are showing that to their children, but who knows if those children will be impacted by that release.

Even now we're seeing people that are tired of Luke variants and prefer rainbow flavored Clone Troopers.

How active will originaltrilogy.com be in 2050? 2100? Kinda freaks me out knowing that Star Wars will be around long after I die. What will it look like when I'm gone? Will Boba Fett still be such a legend in 50 years? Will anyone be shocked to find out Vader is Luke's father by 2075?

Will people be killing each other over canonical differences in wars in 1000years? star wars?

:lol :lol :lol

To that I just have to say that I will enjoy SW till I die. I really dont care what happens to it after Im gone. I wont care. Ill have enjoyed it through my lifespan and thats all that matters :lol
