One thing that does annoy me is that it looks like the fabric of the fatigues has changed completely from the proto. The proto's looked like a kind of suede whereas this does not at all.

Just for the heck of it I messed with the contrast, etc. of the pictures in photobucket. Doing that seemed to bring out a bit more of the variation of tones, etc. that seem to be missing. Again, this is of course artificial but does look better:

While lighting is important, I don't think it's the pictures themselves that are making the figure look bad. That facebook person's shots aren't that terrible, I've seen worse.

Remember these? The figure was in harsher lighting conditions with nothing but unflattering angles and shots but the figure still looked fine,

I think those ON.CC pics have drowned out the 'red-liner' with that harsh white light for starters.

Shadowing seems to be really fracking with the face though.
