That is classic bait-and-switch misleading advertising. I am sure they had the the "free shipping" logo prominently displayed on this figure when announcing it, hence my spending the last 11 months under that impression. Of course the free shipping is only for the less desirable version.

So I just cancelled this figure over the shipping charge and let them know why. They gave me my NRD back, so I will give them that.

No they did not... it's been known since this promo started (which has been going on since before Luke was announced) that only the regular editions of figures would qualify for free shipping.

I'm going through AE for everything, so it's going to be a few weeks for me.

Just found this picture of Luke... As you can see the likness just isn't there and the sculpt looks very soft.

Trouble is, Hamill's face looks totally different from different angles/expressions etc, which is why no-one's ever really nailed it. Guess they had to choose a reference pic and run with it.

I for one am happy with the sculpts.

I find it odd that Sideshow is firm on their price with shipping charges, yet other companies have their stuff cheaper and offer free shipping. It makes me think twice about ordering/pre-ordering from Sideshow.

GB nailed it right on the head. The EX NEVER had FREE SHIPPING. Only Regular releases have that. I pre-ordered the day it went up, and I was ready for a Shipping charge....

It is not a "conspiracy". You are just taking a shot at me because of people like Craig77. I am just stating how I see their conduct from an ethical standpoint. As an accountant I see businesses deliberately make decisions like this on a routine basis and they do so knowing full well it is deceptive.

I already dislike Sideshow as a company given their spotty record of quality and emphasis on hypersexualised depictions of women. I am not going to do business with them directly if not fully satisfied.

I really just wanted the clean version of this figure as I stated months back back in this thread. The Vader helmet seemed like a good deal when it was $300 actual "grand total" for the exclusive. I will still probably get this figure on eBay, either parted out as the clean version or at what seems to be a trend of below retail prices.

Well when your certainty finds the solicitation stating free shipping on the exclusive version of Luke I'd love to see it. Free shipping has been offered on HT figures for a long while now, but it has never applied to Exclusives. And for some reason didn't on the Hulk either

No, I only cancelled after they promised to refund the NRD. If they had refused to refund the NRD I would have bought the item, but been a real b***h and fought them with my credit card company over the misleading use of "grand total".
