@Wor-Gar, a mixture of greys and blacks. A complete wet down and tinting of suit in a watered down dip.

The complete wetdown while working must be the key that gives it that look when it dries. I'm always nervous about the spread of the paint; very tricky work to do it right but you did a great job. :bow

I won't say I'm an expert... but I've found this to be the best method. Even very watered down paints tend to "sit" on the high points of fabric. But if the fabric is already wet it seems to accept it easier and you get a nice consistency. Not to mention the amount of paint retained is minimal which prevents stiffening.

I did the same to my Sideshow Luke and was pretty happy with the result... too bad the sculpt is pretty bad even with a repaint :lol

I'm torn on if I should pay the extra money and get the EX Vader head or not. I don't see myself really doing anything with it.

Decisions decisions.

Help me out gang.

EX or no EX. Who is doing what with it.

Disclaimer: I live in CA so I will be paying roughly $350 with tax and shipping. So the question is if the Vader head is worth the extra $?

If you decide to not want it, it's easy to sell on ebay down the road for a good price... EX's always go for a good price (the Superman EX goes for like $80 alone).

I only buy from SS for EX.

Hard to say. When it's already around 300$, some might say WTH might as well just get it. But 50$ is a decent chunk of change.

Your call!

If you have the old ss Vader as I do, you could set up the scene where Luke decapitates Vader from his vision. Just pop the head off and there you go! I will wait to do that until I have the new Darth Vader of course :)

Thanks for all the input gang. I already thought about the eBay route. Most likely the way to go.

Sad part is I have nobody to sign for my packages when they come so I always have to pick them up days later. Curse you SS for making me sign!!
