I used the ones HT provided. Its pretty sturdy and holds up quite well. Any reasons why you dont like to use em?

They don't seem long enough to penetrate past the drywall and the threads don't look like they would even bite into the drywall with any longevity.

I need to mount this to my ceiling but I really don't like the screws HT provided. Has anyone found an alternate way to mount the weather vane to a ceiling?

If your really worried just attatch a flat board to the ceiling with drywall screws or another type of fastener and put the ht base in with there screws or go down to home depot and just get some drywall screws lol.

I ended up using longer drywall screws to mount the plate and trying to countersink them into the plate. Sadly, the screws were a bit too big so it then quite a bit of dremmeling of the connection piece due to the screws sticking out a tiny bit.

In the end it went up fine and sits flush, but I spent over an hour cursing the damn thing :lol

@midnightclad I have drywall screws "lol". I even tried them, but the heads are too thick and make it so the mount doesn't attach to the vane.

That was the issue I had... I just modded the connector piece which took a long time to get the right fit. But once I got it the weathervane is solidly in place

**knocks on wood**

Finally had the chance to set him up a week after I got him.

BD Luke + weathervane on top of my detolfs, along with my 1/7 Kotobukiya Vader statue :)

Cool pic!
