I prefer the regular. Battle damaged is cool and I'd never part with it but clean is it for me.

Funny that pre-release, the reg seemed to be the dog of the set due to likeness - everyone was like "will they fix it?" - and now the reg seems to be as loved if not more than the BD, maybe due to the huge customizing potential (Hoth, Jedi, **** training - Jedijim has them all!) To me purely on likeness, the BD is 100% and the reg is maybe 95% (but I don't love the hair on either.)

I only have the BD version (couldn't resist an extremely low deal) and it is a stunning fig in hand, just stands out on the shelf and 100% nails ESB Luke to me. I've had both versions in-hand though. Maybe only in the context of owning both can you contemplate getting rid of the BD!

The BD is very scene-specific though and the reg can be next to Yoda or sneaking through Bespin as well as duelling Vader, so very versatile for display.

If I remember correctly the SS saber handle was bigger and the holster part was bigger than HT but other than that they were pretty much the same size. The HT of course was nicer. Just seemed to be of a better quality material.

The blasters were exactly the same size. Just the HT detail was better and the paint job.

The clothes on the sideshow were a bit bigger. Baggier and longer sleeves I think. Also the undershirt didn't have the same detail as the HT and the SS collar was higher. I ended up using the SS undershirt for my Dagobah training Luke cause it covered up the seam on the neck better.

I would still have been using all of the clothing and accessories from the SS if I wasn't so concerned about everything being so uniform. Wanted them all to look good next to each other and unmistakably from HT.

I prefer the damaged figure, mostly because I find it more visually interesting/dramatic, but also because I prefer the hair/face sculpt.

At first I liked the clean version better but now I like the BD better. I think the hair could be better on the clean but still like it.

Finally go this for myself! I was checking it out; the hook to hold the lightsaber on mine came unglued - what kind of glue should I use to re-attach?

This is a tough one but I think the BD gets the the edge because like Marf says its more dramatic and the sculpt is all around a little better. I think the clean is fantastic and it especially shows when the hair is taken off or replaced with jedijims Jedi hair. Of all the customs being done I really wish that someone would sculpt a proper hair piece for the clean sculpt.I think that would truly take that figure to another level.

Lol mine fell off also and was lost in the foam, seems like QC of that hook was over looked. I like the BD one also I was going to use some soot from my fireplace and some coffee to try and dirty him up , but im nervous ill mess him up too much.

I am clean all the way I love my BD to but the clean is so much better in my opinion and I have even contemplated picking up another clean but that will have to wait.

Interesting on the saber hilt sizes - I guess SSC figs are a little bigger all over than HT figs. Would still like to see the hilts side-by-side in a pic. I never got any of those earlier hero SSC figs like Bespin Luke. Someone posted a pic of the UU hilt next to the the HT one (maybe Rorywan) and he seemed to think UU was better.

I like the clean more, have him posed like when he removes his saber from his clip at the top of the steps just before he ignites it. Want to pose him with the active saber in hand but I like the set up for my BD with the saber in the magnetic hand

I originally wanted to just keep the BD ver and sell the clean one, but after opening and getting it in hand, i decided to keep both. They are both a keeper IMO, and to pick one or the other would be almost similar to be asked which hand would you rather keep, the left or the right hand

Agreed with Hydeous. HT did a great thing by packing the two versions together. They complement each other perfectly and both are iconic in their own way. That said, I've got more of an affinity for the battle-damaged version. I feel it's a little closer to Hamill in likeness and those are some of my favourite scenes.

That was me. I liked the UU better because of its detail. The features on the ht saber sculpt were a bit soft. It's a toss up though even though they are the same size. Still not sure if I like the fatter UU blade or the thinner pointed ht one better.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I own the BD version, but I find myself wanting the regular version too. Like some of you said the regular version just fits in with all the other figures and the BD is scene specific. But none the less I love my bd version.
