Do what you want, it’s your collection..it’s not our place to persuade :wave.

.I just don’t understand any true collector selling their figures unless they absolutely need money :dunno

I agree. I put a lot into even deciding whether or not I want a figure in the first place. I’d only consider selling it if a better version of it is released. Like the DX TDK Jokers vs the original mms TDK Joker for example.

you guys do realize Jedi Luke's hair comes off with a magnet right?

you have to hack the back of the Jedi head a bit, but the Bespin hair most definitely does fit on it.

All you need is a second head off Toy anxiety to replace the Bespin head.

FYI the Jedi HS doesn’t have a neck plug, and Bespin does, before anyone thinks it’s a simple removal..not so fast, the bottom of the Jedi neck has the the piece sticking out

So some mods are required :wave

Hi everybody!!

This one's for the ancient, savvy ones that know everything about this pair of figures: any tips/tricks/issues/fixes? Best practices to improve them and make them more real? In particular, what about clothes fitting? This body is the slim one, which I think is too thin for the clothes, right?

Regarding customization, my 2 cents:

- Of course, I have bought a second ANH Luke lightsaber arm, that's evident.

- For Dagobah, I plan to take the non-damaged face and clothes, damped hair, leave it in its tank, change the body for some seamless one, and go the jedi training route. (any recomendation for a thin, not-too-muscular body, anyone?)

Thanks in advance to all those contributing!!!

m.

Why would you want to mod the Bespin other than the head sculpt..not sure what you want to do ..I think the outfit is fine with the TT body :dunno

Body is the right size and fits the clothes perfect. No need to change anything on this figure.

Some pouches come unglued and have to be addressed.

Careful with the jacket and pants snaps. They can break and never be used again.

The body is a hair too tall because of the foot peg and lower leg design. I swapped the lower legs on mine for a regular slim HT lower legs. Pretty straight forward swap. Just needed to open the hole in the boots a bit more to get the regular foot pegs in them.

I used an Enterbay GOD Game of Death body for my dagobah Luke. Turned out pretty good I think.

Hey Guyver, I see some dark spots on the neck of your Jedi Luke, do those wipe away like DeanKnight's did or are those stained in?

Hey.

I owned a ttm22 years ago, and I had problems to fit any regular 1/6 clothing in it. I have also seen many instances (Michael Crawford's reviews come to mind, but I have seen more) where the DX7 clothing seemed to me just too big. On the contrary, I saw few great examples from time to time, and I wondered whether there was some kind of technique to get the figure look right. So, when you say the outfit is fine with the tt body, you mean you got yours to look very realistic without much futzing, or with much futzing, or with some very specific futzing?

You also said something that puzzles me: "Why would you want to mod the Bespin other than the head sculpt"
Why would I want to mod one of the best parts of DX7? Is there any means to improve it? If there was, and it didn't involved complex skills I don't have, I'd be very interested in knowing how!

m.

Again, thanks jedijim3002.

Hey that's a great display right there... You even bought accessories from SSC Yoda Jedi Mentor. Nice!
Damn! The body is right. And I knew there was a seamles Bruce Lee! Damn I forgot!
Thanks for the tip bro! And you dirtied it up too! What kind of paint can you actually use on rubber...?

I can't help asking: how long have you owned that body? How is rubber holding up? You don't pose it with flexed arms, right?

Thanks,
m.

Hum...

I should not have cherished so soon.
That body is almost impossible to get hold of, even for a lot of moolah. And the DX7 neck/head seem... a bit too big for the body's build... :-(

Well.... There are the newer Dam Toys seamless-armed SDUs and military. I got the Tet gunner to try and transplant its arms onto a HT (I don't like sculpted necks). But that body is of a too strong build for Dagobah Luke. Maybe the SDUs...

Then there are the DiD SWATs (Denver, Driver, Lenny, etc). Way too pale, I have gathered. If any of you can confirm/deny, you'll be more than welcomed.

HT Thor is not an option.

Anybody any suggestion? I am out of them. No need for whole-seamless. Only arms would be good.

:-(

Thank you. I had the First SSC Yoda and kept everything but the headsculpt. Used the HT open eyed sculpt on the SSC yoda in the Hasbro Walmart Exclusive backpack.

I just dry brushed some regular acrylic brown on the face and body. This is the one I used.

There is a fully seamless one out there but those are way expensive. This one at least had seamless slender arms which was all I really needed.

Made the decision to cut the neck of the body down rather than the head because I felt it was more expensive and a neck post would not work well with the PERS system inside.

The only other problem I had was covering up the seam between the body and head. The HT undershirt sat too low so I used the SSC Bespin Luke tank top. Worked much better and covered the seam perfectly.

I’ve owned the body since just after I bought my first DX07 when they came out so about 5-6 years. Rubber is holding up fine. It’s more of a vinyl material like HT hulk but there is a this layer of plastic coating over it that has started cracking and peeling but it’s clear so it’s not affecting the actual material underneath. You can still bend the arms but I was hoping to get that iconic “hands on the backpack straps” look and it doesn’t quite bend that far.

I would love to get the phicen Bruce Lee body or the newer Enterbay body because it seems like the articulation may be better and allow that pose I want.

I would love to try this but can’t afford it right now.

Hey Guyver, I see some dark spots on the neck of your Jedi Luke, do those wipe away like DeanKnight's did or are those stained in?

Yeah they wipe away easy, the only reason it got like that is I lifted the head so it doesn't look so pushed into the collar but still retains the neck articulation. The Marks only happen because I sometimes put too much pressure when trying to raise the HS a little and the sticky flim of the collar just rubs off, but it doesn't damage the neck in anyway, shape or form.

Thanks for the info! Glad to hear all is well so far (fingers crossed going forward). It's interesting that the collar has a sort of protective lining.

It makes sense why they did that sticky film , because the collar is extremely tight around the neck , I think the film is too prevent lint and rubbing to gather around the neck :lecture

I haven't received my figure yet, so I am intrigued by that film on the inner face of the collar (if I have understood correctly).

Isn't that film intended to avoid the colour from the collar to penetrate the sculpt, while the colour is setting in into the fabric? If affirmative, that should already have happened right? Why don't you remove the film? And how come the film avoids lint?

m.

Nice how you got to use the second Yoda head!

Thanks for the heap of data.
You have solved well the conundrum neck vs neck. You just can't cut that head's neck.

That body would look about perfect should it not be for the sculpted neck... But you don't get seamless without sculpted neck.
The full-seamless body indeed is a real beauty.
If the cover is peeling off, the rubber beneath might begin to react with the air. Even if it has held up well until now, it might deteriorate quicker now. Don't you think? And you can't substitute this body for a phicen: too tall, big, wide.

I also want to get that pose you mentioned, the head turned as if he was listening Yoda...

When you say you can't afford the full seamless body, do you mean there is a way to get that body only, other than buying the whole GOD set? If you should go that way, and wanted to get rid of unneeded parts, I'd buy the spotlight and some other accessories. Maybe the walls, if price was amenable. I think I might even take the camera, and the smaller items, too. Just so that you know... :)
Anyway, how do you know whether a given GOD set is semi or full seamless?

Finally, what is that newest Enterbay body you mention?

m.
