Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

While this may be true, the "shipper box" seemed created for a single, utilitarian purpose--being the external vessel used to ship collectibles to collectors while minimizing potential damage to those collectibles in a reasonably cost efficient manner.

Though some OCD collectors later decided that the condition of the box used for the purpose of shipping another box is important, that is not, in my estimation, reason for Sideshow to somehow change its long-standing procedure for shipping items.

Shipping it in just the brown shipper sucks!!!! There isn't any cushion at all. My DX came today and the top was smashed in a little, but it was enough to smash the top of the actual box. When I pay $252 for a toy, I expect it to arrive perfect. Saying they shouldn't change their policy is crazy. When I purchase from AE, I get it with an extra box and amazingly it normally cost the same as shipping through Sideshow.

I don't know when it started nor why it suddenly jumped from PFs (it was a good way of identifying recasts) to action figures. But nevertheless, that's how it is now. Flipping/Ebay purchasing OCD aside, it's nice to have a non-mangled box to protect the art box once you get your figures set up.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I don't care if the shipper box is damaged, however, the shipper box doesn't really protect the contents of the box much at all from physical smashing or crushing, and sometimes those delivery companies are just brutal. :dunno

one thing i notice on the new body, i don't like the way the leg separates from the knee when its bent. It sorta makes an impression on the pants (but its only visible on the stealth suit). Think when i get this, I'll put some electric tape over the knee to soften the edge a little

I'd recommend Teflon tape (plumber's tape). It won't gunk up the figure like electrical tape does.

Its just the way the guy decided to bend the knee joint.
He decided to leave the actual knee at the top, next to the thigh, instead of putting it in the middle, in between both the thigh and calf.
It wouldve looked much better if he did it like that.

EDIT -
Heres what I mean.

Knee at the top -

Knee in the middle -

It doesnt really look the same with this body because it isnt a Hot Toys body, but you should still get the idea.

This is how you pack a DX04, in a box almost 3 times as big :wink1:

I would not stand for that "minor" tear!!

Paid $200+ for it from a COLLECTIBLES site, I expect it to be in collector's quality.

Your packaging is TOP quality, my friend.
It felt like I was breaking into a safe when opening my T1 T-800s from you.
Man, I REALLY regret missing out out on preordering Bruce from you:monkey2

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

The left side of my shipper box was compressed and semi crushed. But only the extra body box inside was damaged. Although I am ____ about my packaging being in good condition, I don't want to send it back for that.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I see a few people getting their waitlists converted for the EX. I got on the waitlist about a month or so ago and have heard nothing. Do sideshow just pick orders at random or is there some kind of order or system to it?

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

First come first serve. If I got on the waitlist 5 seconds before you I will get mine converted first.

Thanks, thats what i thought. Just seemed some people were getting on the waitlist and then getting them converted pretty quick. Maybe it just seemed that way. Oh well. Fingers crossed. Im tempted to just order the regular on flexpay, but knowing my luck the EX will then convert. Haha.

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

I like the way that looks without all the cardboard or the background, Marcus. The additional wrap around cardboard section of the base makes the figure a little unsturdy anyway. I've put it back in the box for the time being so I'm really trying to decide how I'd like to display the two figures. I normally got with stands for 99% of my collection but Bruce might have to go without...

Re: Hot Toys's DX04 - Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee 1/6th scale Collectible Figure

since everyone was sharing there pics of damage boxes. Here's mine. The exclusive body box and tray were crushed inside. Luckily the DX box is fine
