gotcha SAB, but if Enterbay closed the license loop, what can Blitzway get away with that Hot toys can't?
If your wondering where the enthusiasm comes from... this started my 6th scale obsession... was Arnie doing Bruce for Enterbay.
Same here...Arnie/Bruce/Enterbay was the combo that sucked me in.
The behind the scenes info we have on this site is patched together from various sources, unofficial and official, some confirmed, some guess work:
- Enterbay had the exclusive license for the Hong Kong movies and what they thought was the exlusive Lee license
- Hot Toys went through Warner Brothers to get Enter the Dragon and then went to Shannon Lee to get Lee's likeness rights, which weren't Enterbay exlusive after all.... they got 3 figure sets out before....
- Enterbay got Shannon Lee to sign a exclusive license for Lee for all 1/6 and 1/4 sized collectibles (confirmed by both Enterbay and Shannon Lee)
- Hot Toys was working on a seamless Lee muscle body and showed computer prototypes which promptly disappeared and was never mentioned again after the Enterbay exclusive announcement
- Blitzway signed Arnie Kim (whose Hot Toys departure was never officially announced) and went to Shannon Lee to get a license to do something larger than 1/4 (because of Enterbay's exclusive) .
If you look on the Blitzway announcement it says 'larger sized polystone statue'. We don't have a hint yet of whether we're talking 1/3 or 1/2 scale.
Hot Toys could of and still can do the same thing I guess although they've shown they are way behind the high end 1/4 figure emerging market that Enterbay have basically invented out of nowhere, let alone trying to tackle 1/3 or 1/2.
This seems a huuuuuuuuge jump for Blitzway so we'll see what happens!
