I can't put my finger on what is throwing it off...maybe the lips protrude out a bit too much?

He looks great otherwise, and is a massive upgrade from the DX06 smirk.

Going back through my DX06 photos, the smirk head on that one suffered the same issue, as fun as having PERS or any sort of posable eye system is with the smirk head, it's the sort of expression where it's best off for the most part with painted eyes in a well suited position, the wrong lighting, viewing angle and eye position and the emotion of the expression changes and not in a good way. It's what convinced me not to pursue the DX06 smirk face to add to my DX15, I scoured photos, and the ability for the DX15 to look good seems on par with DX06 and it looks more like Depp.

Not sure which head I'll use on display, last I had DX06 I had him with the smirk on an angle similar to this moment, one of my favorites of Jack.

That pose is tricky. For one, the smirk head doesn’t expose his teeth during the smile. It’s also missing the added layers of laughing lines, for lack of a better term.

I initially went for that pose and when I discovered I wasn’t really digging it, I switched to this:

Tilting the head forward definitely helps the smirking head tremendously. Keeping his eyes peering off to his right, and at eye level or higher, further lends to the look.

My poses were more like what you've done, not exact to the film still.





I did make an effort to recreate the film shot with DX06 though, and will probably give a new shot at it with DX15, though the wheel will be photoshopped and not real this time.

Why is BBTS being so quiet!!!!?

Heard nothing, should get a notice in the next few days. SSC prolly just shipped them out today.

The good news of course is we're gonna have Jack sooner than expected. But not by much.

BTW, they are shipping this rather large DX in an OUTER box for $4 flat rate so I can wait.

Talked with SS today about fullpaying Jack - apparently they've already alloted what they received of this shipment and are "out of stock" for the time being - so if you don't have a notice now you probably won't get one this time around.

Same with Arkham Joker for what it's worth. She quoted a good 2-3 months a least on Joker.

It feels like this figure is impossible to receive outside of HK.

If you will brave the weird and haunted shores at world's end to fetch back witty Jack, then you will need a captain who knows those waters.

Hot Toys really seems to be weanie-ing out certain figures very slowly. This and the Spiderman deluxe right now both seem to be coming over in lots of about 20.

At first, I assumed it was probably a shipping limitation due to package size, but it almost seems like production completed enough to fill HK demand and get some US, so they released it, but now the factory is behind turning out the remaining foreign inventory.

Very strange indeed. When was this figure originally supposed to be released? What Quarter?

If shipment #2 isn't enough to get some to BBTS that means a long wait for a true "version 2" Sparrow to be made.

Let's hope the v2 is indeed better.

BBTS had it listed as Q1 originally, which meant March at latest, I looked the other day and saw they updated it to Q2, which they have to since we've been in April since Sunday.

Unless something obligates Sideshow to send some of what they got to other retailers, it would seem we're on hold for another few weeks, late April is looking likely, which sucks to wait, but at the same time, receipt of Jack and seeing Infinity War at the same time would be excitement overload.
