I'll crosspost this here aswell, I only applied the Modge Podge yesterday and did this 2 times, with a drytime of 2 hours before the 2nd coating.
And now i will let it rest for a while to see how long it will hold.

Okay,
so i've got my ED since the 5th of may,
noticed the first cracks the 12th of july.
Yesterday I finally pulled the trigger with applying modge podge as a (temp) solution.

Pretty happy with the result for the time being, until someone offers replacment domes.

He is finally showable again ;o)

Did anyone ever post a tutorial video on applying the Honda grease to all the parts you're supposed to?

I only greased the dome. Didnt really care about the joint covers. But it looks like a long q tip is a good tool for them.

Do you know how much grease to use? I bought some microfiber towels advised by someone else. The grease tube was a lot bigger than I expected so I'm not sure how much to apply. I was going to maybe wipe some on the black rubber arm joints, torso/leg joints, and under the head neck-area section.

I probably used a quarter sized amount of the Honda grease on the first application.

On the second time I greased it, I used about a dime size or less. It was just to cover the dome evenly and some spots I missed.

I don't understand why people keep applying the Honda grease. Why not just seal it once with Modge Podge and call it a day? :huh

I wanted to do that as well and was inquiring about it, but people said it would still crack underneath. Can anyone confirm this?

It has not happened on mines and I seriously doubt it will.

I went with the Honda grease cause I wanted the dome to keep its dotty and slick texture. Plus mine had no issues even being inside of its box for 3 months in the summer.

Man, I wanted to hear the Robocop theme :lol Wish this was up a long time ago, that way I wouldn't have had to ask around so much, but thanks!

Was planning to put up this vid once my order of shin-etsu arrived. Thanks guys! :D

Picked up my ED209 to dust him and the dome seems fine so far and the rubber on the legs is cracking a little bit.

Should I definitely apply the Mod Podge to the legs rubber and then preempt the dome cracking with Shinetsu Grease? Will that make a difference to the look? Will this devalue my figure I wonder?

Preempt the dome with the Sinetsu grease for sure. Mine hasn't shown any signs and looks exactly the same when I applied it several months ago.

Won't make a difference to the look with the grease. I'm also sure it won't devalue the figure coz there isn't any noticeable mods or changes made but helps keep the rubber in good shape. That's what I think IMO.
