I'm a little bummed they went with a Special Edition image for the cardboard backdrop. That and a big mean crease through the middle.

I wonder why they didn't just reissue the Leia Bespin molded backdrop. It was just cheapo insert tray type plastic so wasn't a huge cost.
Probably because everyone was always ripping on how crappy it was for not being plastic. In reality it still looked great. Definitely better than the cardboard backdrop -- they went even cheaper! :lol

THIS backdrop should have been included!!

Yeah, it is a pretty nifty piece for being "clamshell packaging" level quality. You really can't tell once it's on display.

If anyone is interested, JediJim on here made a cast of that Leia Bespin backdrop in resin - so it maybe has the"heft" people were wanting in the original. You just have to spray it white - it comes as just off-white resin. If people need one or a few, just hit him up and then maybe just do a scan/color print of the "Bespin floor" stand topper. That stand topper is pretty basic anyway (and I wish the pattern "interlinked" but the curves prevent that.)

Ordered mine fro TBA (used best offer) I will deffo use some method to pin down the wonky collar. Going to pair Lando with Vader and ESB Fett.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It obviously makes for a visually cooler looking backdrop, but I just don't think I could stand to have a constant reminder of the SEs in my collection (even if ESB escaped the process fairly unscathed).

There's a very thin wire floating around in the collar of the cape that is completely useless for posing, and there is no way to keep the collar tips down as it is, so I just added a tiny drop of glue under each tip and glued them to the cape. Not sure why Hot Toys didn't stitch the tips down like they've done on other similar things. Maybe they couldn't because of the faux leather material of the collar (which will no doubt disintegrate in time anyway).
This is probably the smartest option. I guess you could try to replace the wire with a thicker one but you risk ripping that part and then I would imagine it would fray. I thought about magnets as well but I'm really not bothered by the collar that much yet.

I’m very happy with how this figure turned out. Initially when preordering, I was concerned with the head sculpt. But having him now in hand, I can say, the head sculpt is nothing to worry about. It looks great! And while the rest of the figure is very minimalistic compared to other figures, Lando has great shelf presence. I say minimalistic because there’s not much to him. But that’s ok he’s classic Lando and he looks awesome with my collection.

A couple of notes…

The cape is made out of a material that doesn’t drape well. I wish it was heavier. It took a lot of futzing to get it to fall right. The collar of the cape is also a pain to get the desired look.

There’s not much slack in the shirt. It’s pretty tight, although I was able to untuck it a little so that it doesn’t look so tight. You can tell there’s a body suit underneath, so for some of you it might look better with the suit removed so that the shirt won’t be so tight.

Also the collar of the shirt can’t really be pulled down much because you see where the neck attaches to the body. It might have been better if HT would have used a body with a seamless neck and have the head sculpt attach with a neck peg like Sideshow’s Skiff Lando.

Now if I could only get Bespin Han & Bespin Escape Leia!

The head sculpt is looking good in more and more in-hand photos. Cool looking display with the other ESB figures, too!

I'm patiently waiting on Sideshow to get them in and shipped out.

Yeah the sculpt looks fantastic there.

One thing I just noticed is that the inner hem of the cape appears really uneven on either side of some of these. Really hope mine won't have that issue.

Thanks for the pics and review. Overall he looks great. Suave AF  he looks great with the other ESB figures and I especially appreciate that we're getting a "civilian" in the mix to add some visul interest. Can't wait to get him.
***Love the little Kenner Lando too!

Same! It's a 40th anniversary - it should depict the film that came out in 1980. Same goes for the poster on the flip side of the instructions. Shoulda been one of these.....

Thanks for these notes. I was afraid the cape would be the Leia dress material all over again. And very odd to use a jointed neck on a character with a plunging neckline.

The sculpt does look nice in your shots.

I have to say I'm still on the fence about getting Lando.

Looks great to me. He really pops with fett and Vader.

This is why I hate ordering from China. Whether it’s an eBay seller, seller on IG, or “official storefront”, I always seem to get a run around. Paid for Lando when it said he was IN STOCK and ready to ship from TW. This is the email I get:

“Hi customer, for Item MMS588 The Empire Strikes Back- Lando Calrissian Collectible Figure, Thank you for your email.
We sincerely apologize that there were two consecutive typhoons in Hong Kong last week causing serious delays of shipments. Due to the further production delay by the manufacturer, estimated arrival date is before end of Oct 2021. Should you have any enquiries please do not hesitate to contact us.”
