Teemu, you have completely misunderstood this entire discussion.

We're merely discussing the improvement in Stallone head sculpts from the first Rambo figure (First Blood Part 2) to the most current figures (Rambo 3 and First Blood version 2), and the improvement in paint apps and sculpting has undeniably improved. The overall figures are equal, same base body and all have great accessories, it's the heads on them that have seen dramatic improvement since the first release in the series.

Rambo II and First Blood Rambo look like cartoon figures compared to 3. I definitely need to have Dark Artist repaint them or get them Lesterized to bring them up to par with Rambo III.

While you can certainly improve them, I think even the base sculpt isn't as dead on Stallone as the recent ones, but you can improve them sure enough.

Yeah, the sculpts could definitely be improved now but Josh's repaint of First Blood he did for King Darkness was dead-on Sly and Les can make a turd like Yavin Luke look phenomenal in spite of a deficient sculpt.

How did I misunderstand? Now they say rambo 1 and 2 look like cartoon characters? All 3 are superior figures!!! While the Rambo 3 does have an improved head sculpt, the rambo 2 does not slack in sculpt either.I own all 3 and they are big attention by my friends. The only thing I dont understand is the coming down Hard on the Rambo 2 version. which by far is a superior figure in the 1/6 scale world

It was 2 years ago but look how much Hot Toys has improved their likenesses and paint just this year alone with the Pirates line and Prison Break. Rambo III is the best Stallone likeness yet. Standing next to my other Rambos and they look like cartoon charicatures by comparison. Don't misunderstand, I love ALL of my Rambos but the latest one definitely shows how much better they COULD be in terms of sculpt accuracy and paint. The rubber muscle body has also improved now that they appear to be on the new Truetype II bodies and hopefully the rubber will not crack and break like it does on the Rambo II body.

I too own the Rambo II & III Hot Toys figures, however I would have to agree that the Rambo III "Head Sculpt" and that alone was an improvment. I do LOVE my Rambo II HT though, its simply kick ass! The red head band stands out from like a mile away!

Everyone knows Rambo means Red Headbands! :D

The First Blood Part 2 figure is fantastic and a fine figure, but I don't think you can look at the head on it compared to the Rambo 3 version and not see the level of realism Hot Toys has achieved of late. The Rambo 2 figure head looks like a toy, not Hasbro bad, but toyish, especially compared to what HT is doing now, and I just think it'd be quite something to see their current talents applied to this figure again. His hair wasn't quite a match to the film, but based on the R3 and FB v2 head sculpts, HT is also getting the hair right, and I think the overall head for R2 Rambo redone would look fantastic and spot on. The original First Blood figure improved in the face, but the hair isn't quite how it was, and with the latest version from that film premiered, they've got it nailed now, so it'd be something to see that figure with a better head as well.

:D Oh I know, I was referring to when I was a kid, I always remembered the Rambo movies with the Red Headband! Man, Stallone sure knows how to make memorable flicks!

I'm like you, the red head band is burnt into my mind as defining Rambo, I grew up playing with the Coleco figure and watching the old cartoon, both of which used red as his head band color.

Actually I think there's a very strong argument here for a Rambo II version 2 figure. The Hot Toys muscle body has improved since the first release, the rubber is said to be stronger and less prone to splitting and deterioration, the level of detail has improved as well as the sculpting and factory paints. A new Rambo II headsculpt with more realistic hair and better facial features would be a substantial improvement and would satisfy the after-market demand for this figure. I'd buy it, begrudging my wallet mind you but I would definitely buy it.

Rambo: The Force of Freedom kicks ass! I might have to watch it tonight!

Dave, I'm still waiting for Toys2 to get the R3 Rambos in and ship mine, is the body really that different from the R2 and FB figures, it looked identical to me from the pictures on here.

There's been a few DVDs of that, I came accross a couple in Walmart and picked them up, someday I'll get around to completing the series.

The rubber molding looks pretty much the same, darker complexion, but the body it's molded over I believe is the newer Truetype II. I think it might be better jointed but overall it looks almost identical to the Rambo II body.
