Do we need this to sell well and/or DOD not to flop to get young(er) Indy? Or do HT know young(er) Indy would go gangbusters regardless?
Well, they've officially revealed the full Supergirl figure from The Flash and that movie has been a box office disaster so maybe not

They already missed the boat on the perfect ending by making KOTCS, so I am just hoping this is better than that. If it clears that bar I will happily pick this up because I think it looks great.

It's a widely known fact that Tom Cruise doesn't allow merchandise, the only figures you'll see are customs. Highly expensive ones.

And bootlegs.

LSSAH Indy next, Hot Toys. I dare you...

:devil

I got back into 1/6 WWII due to my fascination with the Afrika Korps, which began with their absurd appearance in ROTLA.

Haven't actually shoe horned an Indiana Jones figure into that collection yet.

In regards to people noting that the hat on this looks too small, I'm pretty sure that was intentional. The fedora in DoD is visibly smaller in the brim, most likely to reflect the time period.

That scene is so cool. Thomas Kretschmann as Colonel Weber was awesome.

I wish that 1944 opening segment had been longer, or actually been the setting for the entire film. It felt like classic, over the top Indy, complete with the usual gags.

When it jumps forward to 1969 it feels depressing. Seventy year old Indy, now belonging in a museum himself, looking back to the past, while everyone else is looking to the future.

I'm only half an hour into the film, but it's not affecting my wish to own the DoD Hot Toys. I can still imagine a lot of life left in the figure.

Bridging the WWII collecting world, I bought DID's Spear of Destiny years ago to display with the Indy figures:

Over a decade later, it (or its copy) finally made an appearance in an Indiana Jones film as a MacGuffin, under one of it's alternate names, the Lance of Longinus (because it'd be confusing to have two 'of Destiny' artefacts).

Still thinking about the train chase, Indy on the bike, whipping the gun from his hand, classic stuff. If HT announce a young Indy soon going into con season I will be ecstatic!

I'm pretty sure they'll make one, but made the decision to release the older version first in order to maximise sales.

A lot of collectors might've been less inclined to buy an old Indy if a younger version was already available.

So that's that...

Indy doesn't go back to it once it's broken though. He's taken over another bridge on the way out:

It isn't the brim that I was referring to but the top, which would make it difficult for a real head to fit in. They just need to widen it just a little to remove that strange look.

Not necessarily related to you, but please, watch the movie in a movie theatre! I feel entitled to judge, as I am an industry professional, but in this case it's not even that, it's just that this movie should be watched on a big screen, one shouldn't even have to point that out. Watching a low quality pirated copy kills 80% of the joy.

Anyway:
I think that's the same bridge being held together by a nazi guy who is pulling the rope that gave away.

Personally, I have zero inclination to watch anything in a cinema. You have to associate with people... and you can't pause it and do other things when you feel like it.

I don't usually watch the low quality pirated copies either, but wait for the proper digital release. In this case I really just wanted to see what the deluxe base referred to, and whether the fuss and uproar about the movie was true - which it wasn't. I found DoD to be quite innocuous and inoffensive.

I can see the guy pulling on the rope, holding the bridge up now.

Sterling started to rise again today, which prompted me to put my order in for the deluxe with Kit. $100 extra for a rock with some broken boards hanging off it seems quite steep, but it captured my imagination.

I might add that being the bridge located in Italy, well... that's another reason from me to order the deluxe!
