True. Present Toys said their Indy jacket was real leather but many folks who have it in hand say it's just a better quality leatherette/ faux leather than your typical stuff and not real leather.

Well that's good to hear at least. Would be odd to have an Indy movie with Nazis without him actually shooting any of them.

well, there's more talk happening in the thread that's actually in the Indiana Jones Section of the forum. Most ppl are only excited by this announcement due to the hope of maybe getting a young "CGI" Indy from the film as well. Though, there are some who are pretty happy with the figure reveal.

Surprised we don't see gun holding hands for this even if he didn't have a gun In film. But I'm sure they'll add it to young Indy. I can already imagine the specific accessories for him and the base.

It is still a thing - a government review announced just a few days ago sent fines to major companies (button battery seller Reject Shop among them) for non-compliance as they said companies had been really lax with the new regulations.

I imagine this will send a shockwave through PC and the button battery thing will be major all over again. They did go through and remove batteries and parts for some items, but had something like 100 items marked as international sales only to get around this.

The issue is really around how integrated the electric feature is, as just removing the batteries does not take care of the problem. It tends to be battery compartment itself which has to have a captive screw and also be certified by a lab as safe.

To my knowledge, HT has still not redone their design to include a captive screw. Fortunately with this Indy figure it's really just about removing and disposing of the light-up torch/flashlight.

I still think this new button battery law is so stupid. Just don't be an idiot and tell your kids not to eat batteries. Aslo hot toys aren't for kids so even more stupid to apply to them

Let's hope any more Indy or Ford figures get made by HT. Only way I see more coming is if InArt announced a Raiders Indy teaser.

The folks who manage licensing over at WBD had the right approach with HT. Offer up a redux of Keaton's classic '89 Batman with updated materials, new sculpts for the cowl and mouth pieces and a scene-specific stand for the climax of the film. Older collectors go gaga and order it up, and it generates hype for the new version from the latest appearance of the character. Collectors are hyped and happy, studio gets (badly needed) good buzz.

Cut to Disney/Lucasfilm. If they had taken a similar approach to Indy, that is, worked with Hot Toys to offer an updated version of the classic, iconic Indy first, with all of those improvements and updates to the figure, like WBD, they'd be generating buzz to get interest up in the new version when it hit.

I like the look of this figure. The materials look great, the cut-n-sew is truly top-notch and yes, the aged portrait of Ford looks good, It won't leave the factory looking as detailed, but this proto presentation looks great. I'll order the standard edition, more as a acknowledgement to Ford and the character than of this movie.

Like others, I hope the movie generates just enough interest to see HT revisit the "Raiders"-era Indy.
