Honestly they should just let it die. Indy ended his adventures in LC riding into the sunset with his dad and friends and had some good adventures after. If KOTC was different story wise, and his son was portrayed better my head canon is he lived until he was an old man with grandkids telling stories of his adventures.
 
I'm just puzzled it's 2025 and there is still no The Animated Adventures of Indiana Jones. Patrick Schoenmaker did a great proof of concept nine years ago.



In fact, I am surprised they didn't stack up the Lucasfilm Animation department after their success with The Clone Wars to go into production on a CG Indiana Jones series around 2010/11 or so.
 
If they go live action again, they should get Brandon Sklenar. He's really great as the Jones-esque character in 1923. His performance was the highlight of the show IMO.

Spencer Dutton was the best in that show he even met Ford who plays his uncle in show also. I've seen some online say he'd be a good fit for DCU Batman.
