i could have watched a whole movie just about the basterds. i actually thought that's what it was going to be like since pitt was so heavily linked to the film. i did like the "pulp fiction" style of it with the interlinked stories, but yeah, definitely could have just watched a movie on the basterds. maybe growing up with 80s action movies has ruined me.

EDIT: oops, this is movie discussion. sorry dave. in that case, i'll add uhhh..... can't wait for pics from HT

Hot Toys had this to say on their facebook page:
Are you waiting for a Basterd? Most people don't like it,but this will be an amazing one! Believe it or not? Stay tuned with us for the Basterd!!!

With the way that update is worded, doesn't it sound like we can expect only one figure from this line?

And hats off to all of you Basterds for posting over 600 replys with STILL no picture yet. :D

Hope that is severe sarcasm man!! :horror

Hehe unfortunately not Timbo, i just can't stand him. Don't get me wrong, i dig tarantino movies, i don't get all the 'hoo haa', not everything he makes is gold, but the classics are just classics, i mean, i'm a big kahuna burger guy from way back, THAT stuff is solid gold. But his new stuff is just bloody garbage imo. Like 8th samurai said, i thought it was going to be basterd style! Nearly a complete hour was just on the damned cinema and subtitled!
As for posting in this thread, not trolling or anything, but i was anticipating the figure, thinking i'd at least like the movie or pitt's role enough to actually consider buying the figure, but was so dissappointed just had to vent :p Like i said though, still interested to see how it turns out.

I can't really see how you can like Pulp Fiction and not like IB. Almost everything that's great about PF is in Basterds - extended, suspenseful dialogue scenes, quirky characters, interwoven stories...

If HT nails Pitt's likeness then its a guaranteed preorder from me.

Wow, that's interesting man.

I agree that I was completely expecting a rip roaring war acction film with the Basterds cutting throught swathes of Nazis for two hours, but if I am honest, I was completely blown away with what was actually presented and loved every second of it.

Do you guys think we will get any pics this week?? Going crazy here waiting. :google

I can't put my finger on it, i think because of assuming PF could be pure fantasy, where as, i am a HUGE WWII movie fan/collector/researcher, perhaps subconsciously i was expecting a realism approach instead of the same fantasy-esque piece. I dunno :duh:lol The first half an hour-40mins of the film was the best part by far imho, right up until after the hitler part. ''Who are what is a private zoller'' or whatever he said :p

I think actually, if they did a Hans Lander Nazi figure, i'd buy it, just for the lack of german nazi officer figures in my collection and the fact that they are just so perfected and interesting/cool looking.

"Unce upon a time in Nazi occupied France."

Made it clear to me this was not going to be factual.

Its like a grandpa telling his kids his war stories and embellishing, "and then we got Hitler..." :lol genius imo.

The way it's worded, it sounds like most people don't like theit figure :) I think they meant most people don't like waiting.

Speaking of Toys Daily, has anyone else been getting a 'this website may harm your computer' warning when trying to access it?

Yeah, I have had that too!!

Same here.

Yup! Same here!Dunno what it is!:banghead

How are people getting on Toysdaily forums?

It was automatically blocked for me since the 31st of Dec, and Google says that was the last day they found something.

Before that I was getting some pop ups from my Virus protector about some 'redirecting' scripts or something.

Now the forums only lead to a page with images saying 'Under-Construction'.

Looks like Toys Daily is back up, guys. It's running a bit slow, but at least now I'm not getting the Warnings this time.

Thanks for the heads up. Still getting the warnings, and the site is pretty ____ed up, but it's better than nothing! :lol

Thats cause we're all trying to be like Fonzie and be cool, waiting for Hot Toys to show that sculpt!

I keep rooting round for info... I think the powers that be are just itching to show what they have right now, I've heard say it's ready to show, but a final 'reveal' date is soon!
