I am going to guess its Kojun's work, or the guy who did Marcus Wright(GOX).

kojun's work normally have bold and expressive lines/strokes. The GOX's sculpt is a bit blunt and less detailed.

This one has the fine lines, and subtle features, no doubt its yulli's work.

But then again, we are just guessing, so we'll know in about 3-4 days, when they release more pics and details.

Looks really nice!!
I'm sure there will be an additional head, just like with Leonidas...

I'm leaning towards this as well... maybe even enough parts to create two looks instead of just one. I'd be surprised if they just completely ignored the iconic look he has and that has become synonymous with the film.

But even if this is the only sculpt, I'll still be buying as it looks damn good.

I've said it ten gazillion times before, and, brace yourself, here it comes again.
What, Do, Hot, Toys, Not, Understand, About, The Two, Words,
ICONIC
EXPRESSION?
Seriously, it's a nice lookin sculpt, granted, i can see it, but what's with the opened mouth and, 'not quite there, looking off into the distance' eyes etc. The WHOLE iconic Aldo thing is that weird overbitten, godfatherish esque jaw thing that brad had goin' on, so why would they dum it down by opening the mouth?! Bloody hell HT, annoy the crap out of me sometimes, and i do concur, what a pathetic angle for a teaser, it's the least flattering one could think of!
The upper eyelids don't look squinty enough to me. Reserving until more pics!

I agree Hot Toys tends to be a little borning with some of their expressions sometimes.

Enjoy:

I'll have to agree with b939.
It's a nicely done sculpt. Not quite the expression I was expecting.
Too bad they didn't come up with an iconic Aldo expression. I thought Alex Lopez's Aldo Basterd had a better look.
We'll have to see more pics.
HT head sculpt looks a little lifeless, it kinda reminds me of Zemeckis' CG characters in Polar Express and Beowulf, dead eyes.

Im still sold on this but I really prefer the expression with the protruding lower jaw. The expression is too Brad and not enough Aldo , looks too soft

Obviously thats me, and yea the new DID figures look great but!!...lets see how well their new prototypes look after its mass produced.I still think Hot Toys paint applications are better then DID, thats why i compared this one pic of Aldo to them..because it looks a tad less then what we come to expect from HT..again, its one pic..i am not full out rivering about it.

Nice to come into GC and see this thread at the top of the page and then seeing it went from page 66 to 70, I knew it had to be something big. First impression was not so good but I will undoubtedly order and hope it's better in person. Getting 2 headsculpts would be great. Let's hope this turns out perfect and that they won't stop with just Aldo:banana

I just saw their Che last week, final product. I was stunned. stunned. The only things Ive seen up to par with it quality wise in terms of sculpt and paint is Hot Toys Godfather and Wolverine.

DID is the closest company to touch Hot Toys,

Thats cool, i did see some box shots online of the Che figure but, none of the actual production figure as of yet, i take your word for it though. It really is strange to me to see DID have such dull looking paint apps one year then boom, they have almost HT quality paint applications.I wonder if some people that worked for HT went to work for DID.

I think if they just resculpted the lips, it would look much closer to his signature expression.

On a positive note, expression aside, that likeness is extremely good. I don't think I've seen a better Pitt likeness on a 1/6 sculpt. Granted, this is just a quick assessment based on one teaser pic. Hope the official pics look as nice.
