It seems that WB's new regime is unconcerned with continuity, and creating a grand unified tapestry a la the MCU. And that also it's okay to have alternate versions of characters. Joker's smash success establishes all of that. Imo, here's the best way for them to cash in. I say go all-in:

1. Release ZSJL in the theater first, full-on. Let it make $1B+. They already have a big social media marketing machine in place for it with RTSC. No worries about RT critics since this film has tremendous counterculture appeal at its very foundation to begin with. Support of ZSJL is kind of a big FU to the establishment, etc. **** RT.
2. After the film finishes its theater run make it available exclusively on HBO Max for about four months without making it available for digital purchase or via disk during that time. The only way you can see it (outside of illegal torrent) is via subscription to HBO Max.
3. Release the ZSJL disk available first only as part of a steelbook director's cut trilogy tha runs for $100-ish, featuring MoS with extended scenes, a true director's cut of BvS that adds maybe 20 more minutes from the assembly cut (so-called UE is the originally intended theater release!!!), and of course ZSL. After that promotion make the standard individual disks available for each version.
4. If ZSJL is a smash hit then how does WB not make JL 2 and 3 when there is a demand for it? You think RTSC will stop once it gets ZSJL? Uh, wrong. It ramps up even more. And if its a hit guaranteed even more GA join the RTSC bandwagon, etc.
5. The only answer is Black Label for continuation of the Snyder 5 film saga. Whatever they want to call it. But the essence of the "brand" is creative freedom for the director to deliver their vision. This as a counterbalance to the formulaic MCU production line (immensely successful though the MCU is, DC can't really match or outdo MCU).
6. Battinson trilogy launches a new mainstream, traditonal crowd-pleasing universe for DC Films. It appeals more to the mainstream general audience and RT critics. Ben Affleck only appears in two more films (JL 2 and 3) plus the cameo at the end of Flashpoint. This as Battinson is doing his thing in the trilogy. But absolutely no one is bothered by that, and in fact everyone is happy to get what they want. When the first JL film in the new Battinson universe gets released in 2028 they add a new Superman. Cavill's will be retired by then. And Henry will have gotten in at least one self-contained solo Superman film within the Snyderverse.

Although with the talk now of doing Flashpoint by 2024 (Muscetti: "but not what you'd expect" whatever that means) that would pretty much scuttle this. But what I outlined is how to go all-in with it was my point.

It occured to me this morning that there is probably a simple modification fix for the JL Superman heat vision head sculpt leaking light at hairline. Mask that part of the face off on the inside of the sculpt. I'd use painter's tape, color it black with a sharpie so there's no blue tint to it.

I'm not sure that releasing SC in theaters would make any sense. That is a very expensive undertaking, and given that JL already significantly underperformed once, I don't think any studio would feel like a directors cut was a safe bet for theatrical release. It makes way more sense to release it on a streaming platform to drive subscriptions a la Disney+/Mando. Plus there's not just unlimited theater space available. For WB to put SC into theaters I they're be taking something out. Missed opportunity like that would be a huge cost. There's just no way a studio is going to double down on a proven dud with the hopes of reigniting an already abandoned strategy. And best case scenario, the studio shouldn't even be hoping for SC to be any better received than MoS or BvS, neither of which opened with anything closer to universal praise. The many, many people that didn't like those movies probably won't like SC any better.

I don't see them doing a theatrical release, either. The folks who know what it is will pay to see it on Blu-Ray, streaming services, etc. The folks who don't know about it will be confused and think they've already seen that movie or already passed on seeing that movie. WB would have to market the theatrical release as completely new and completely different (which is true), but that would leave a lot of egg on their face. They would have to think they will make a LOT of money on a theatrical release to release a movie under the marketing of 'This is what we should have released the first time.... Sorry we listened to a few bloggers in their mom's basements'.

I was thinking the same thing, but it might eliminate space for the sculpt to not fit I?ve the led properly. Once we get it in our hands we shall find out.

It won?t fit if you add tape.
It?s snug as it is to say the least

Perfect. :rotfl

I really wish someone would've made a head based on the opening phone footage.

It's certainly an iconic look. :lol

The reviewer in this video put the MoS head sculpt on this JL Supes, it looks just as good as I suspected.

Wow it looks great with that hs...
Anyway I still see something wrong in the shape of the shoulders, I may try to add something to the triceps when I get mine.

I've had this on pre-order as long as everyone here. Gotta say it doesn't look worth the wait, but I don't own any other Superman and already got JL Batman and Wonder Woman waiting for this guy. Really wish they had a more neutral headsculpt. Seemed like a no-brainer considering the direction they took with the character in this movie.

I was thinking if you own the darker suit BvS version, you can put the angry laser eye sculpt on him and he'd look like that evil junkyard Superman from Superman III. :)

What stood out for me in that video was when he placed both figures next to each other and the new figure's forearms looked ridiculously over-sized. Plus it made the inner elbow joint look ridiculously small. Just looks wonky to me. I like the new brighter color but not the underlying body. Looks like I'll be sticking to my MOS version indefinitely.

I completely disagree with and reject this narrative, but can respect that you have it, fwiw.

All good. I always enjoy reading your opinions and hope I didn't come across as disrespectful. MoS and BvS are great, imo, and I would love to see Snyder's multi-film vision for JL. As it stands, when the SC does inevitably make it out in whatever format, I'll be cheering right beside you.

Well the forearms, thighs and upper abs/lats are just added pieces to the MoS body that you can remove. The only parts that aren?t removable are the shoulders. I removed the forearms and thighs my BvS version and it looks better that way IMO. The only very small setback was having to paint those areas silver but I felt it looked much better than the way too much oversized forearms and thighs

Speaking of the matter,

I was googling the ?anti-life? equation. Which basically is an equation that if applied on any living being, becomes your slave.

Then I remembered how Batman was emphasizing how it was important for Clark to return to the world, because he was a symbol of hope. You take away hope, love and freedom, and any being becomes yours to command.

I believe that Superman would have gone through each phase of these until he processes the life equation which by then he would becomes the Superman we all love and know ie the red and blue. While the black **** is supposed to symbolize the ground zero of Superman or the reset button.

Josstice league however jumped through all of this and leaped the whole Superman cycle when he thought that taking the blue and red suit would be better than the black.

SC won't get a wide theatre release- no way- it was a big fizzle and no real interest from the regular folks to see it. However, they can do a stream pay per view or of course BD and 4K release and clean up.
Hope it happens....
