So are they going to put out black version or no.
So are they going to put out black version or no.
If ZSJL blows up and people like seeing Ben's Bruce and Henry's Clark paired together as allies, hey who knows! I get others' pessimism about even getting JL 2 and 3. But if again, if ZSJL is popular af you never know.
I'd be over the moon if we ever got them in a World's Finest movie.
I wish that were true, but even if this isn't intended to be the new Kal-El Superman, it's still going to be the studio's main Superman going forward, and the one they're putting all their attention and money towards. And it certainly cuts off any hope of getting a MOS2.
And with the Flash movie about to reset everything (likely with a new Batman and Superman), I really don't see another JL movie happening. No matter how well the Snydercut does. Something like that would have to be planned out years in advance to work with all the other DC films in development, and not just come out of some last minute director's cut put together to help out their new HBO channel.
WB backed themselves into a corner with their own incompetence. Now the multiverse is their only option to save face and continue. This also allows Ben and Henry to stay on and tell better stories with different writers/directors. They're owed another shot IF they want it.
There's a rumored killing joke movie with Leto which I would love to see. I just hope they get someone other than Snyder to direct even though he's attached at this point. The killing joke story is heavily emotional, not stylized destruction porn.

The film multiverse is a great idea, they need to fully embrace it. It's the way to make everyone happy. I'm not interested in the Pattinson Batman movie at all, but I'd love to see the original idea for Affleck's solo movie with Deathstroke and I'm sure a lot of folks feel the opposite. I want to see Cavill's Superman continue, but a period piece Superman movie set in the 30s or 40s would be really cool too. A multiverse would allow for more directors and styles of film making.
Who knows how it will proceed though, WB still clearly has no idea what they're doing, although it seems to be willful ignorance. Hopefully AT&T takes over and makes things happen.
It simply stems from the fact that WB don't have their s#*t together like Marvel, so this is an easy way to explain their movie situation, and also incorporate some gimmick/nostalgic crossovers like in the Flash movie.
I agree, and since they embarrassed themselves (IMO) by trying to ape Marvel the next best thing (to better writing/directing) is to throw out different versions of the same character. But as I write this I wonder if that will lead to people not investing in these movies, since other versions may be forthcoming. Not sure. I know it at least appears most of us would dislike seeing Cavill get the shaft. He may turn out to be like Hugh Jackman and get one decent shot at the character before moving on.
Aside from X3 and Origins, Jackman had a few good movies to flex his wolverine muscles (not including his cameos). The best being Logan.
These guys didn't get any, their performances were great but it was everyone behind the cameras that ****ed them.
Exactly, if WB would put their bs politics to one side and concentrate on doing their f##king job of giving what the fans and the public want then it would be fine.
I still cannot get my head around a studio that is actively trying to torpedo a film coming out with their biggest and most beloved Superheroes in one epic movie. Yes I know it's about their decisions of the past. But damn that is unbelievable.
It will be really interesting to see what happens post ZSJL release. I know I'll be up for a JL2 set in a Knightmare dystopian Darkseid world !
Unfortunately, I think Snyder and WB DID give fans what they wanted, which was a dark, super serious, grim comic story with lots of punching. But fans make up a minority of film goers. The public, IMO, want a fun comic book movie with characters they've invested in. For as much flack as Joss gets for what he was asked and paid to do, it was the idea of doing the Marvel method, which works. Unless WB goes back to square one and does character driven, FUN movies and gives them time ... they'll keep doing what they're doing, heaping bad decision on bad.
The fandom is split on that, evidently.
True. Few, I'd wager are more ardent defenders and fans of the Superman character than me, but I cannot invest in these movies. I was really close to getting this last Cavill figure just to have a newer Superman fig to display, but I'll wait until a figure comes from a movie I'll actually watch again, ever.
