So if I missed out on BvS Superman and have both BvS WW and Bats, should I grab this Superman to join them (bases do not match) Or look for a resale of the BvS edition? I am trying to fish through the likes and dislikes on the thread but really comes down to grabbing the JL or BvS edition? If you were in my shoes, what would you do.....(Thanks!)

Order this one then pick up a BvS base off eBay.

The heat vision head is a nice touch, not sure if the whole redesigning thing is worth the money since I have the BvS version.

I'm still betting they change the hair. I mean they have to right lol

They won't... description says "newly painted head sculpt" for the basic sculpt, pretty much affirming that's what we're going to get.

Also, from the product description:

- Movie-accurate facial features with detailed wrinkles and skin texture;
- Detailed hair sculpture.

If the hair was also going to be "movie-accurate", they likely would have mentioned it.

Which is ridiculous because that should be the primary goal with every figure.

Damn the hair doesn’t bother not.one.bit lol

Me neither. I picked up the BvS sculpt a while back to do a mod to my MoS Supe, and I don't recall even noticing the difference. If I did, I probably just assumed he parted his hair differently in BvS. Between that change and the glasses, no one would ever notice he looks like that Clark Kent fellow. :lol

Well.....I already have the rest of the League on PO because my intent is to assemble the JL. I honestly really don't want to get this figure, but I almost feel like I need it now in order to complete the League.

The only thing about it that says "JL Superman" to me, is the slightly lighter suit. I'm a bit disappointed that the normal sculpt is merely a repaint of the BvS sculpt. Even the hair isn't parted the correct way. I was really hoping they would do a different expression with a subtle smirk to reflect the change in tone, since they have used the same stern expression on all of their Superman figures now (including Reeve). The heat vision sculpt is a nice addition as I know people were always clamoring for a separate heat vision sculpt (though I think if you got that OSK heat vision sculpt that was perfectly fine), but that seems like it'd go better with the BvS figure being that he used heat vision more in BvS than he did in JL. Nothing in either of these sculpts really conveys JL Superman to me and nothing about this figure distinctly separates it from the BvS figure to where one is clearly BvS and the JL.

Perhaps someone later on creates a sculpt with a more ideal expression for it.

Agree completely. I'll sell my BvS Superman and get this for the lighter suit but really it's hard to call it a true JL Superman figure.

This release is cause for celebration if for no other reason than its meaning that Hot Toys is still capable of including 2 headsculpts with a figure in this day and age! Glad I sold my BvS Superman in November for $130 more than I paid for it because that is no longer a possibility.

This release is good news for me. Maybe I'll be able to grab BvS supes for less than 300 now. I would have felt pretty stupid paying a high price 2 months ago. Still waiting for knightmare to get into my price range though

I'll be selling my BvS Superman to replace with this. It's the ex version, but I think I'll keep the Kryptonite. Not sure if it would still sell though

They made a good Superman figure here, but dropped the ball I think on making a JL Superman figure.

I can understand that screen accuracy isn't as important to some collectors, but for me it is probably the deciding factor as to whether it's worth owning or not. ESPECIALLY if (like me) you don't mind owning multiple versions of the same character... this release is great for those who don't yet have a DCEU Superman, but for those of us who have MoS and/or BvS supes, this is a real let down... I still can't decide if the heat vision sculpt is enough to warrant the purchase.

I like Cavill as Supes, but one thing I always thought they never got right about his look was his hair. It finally looks pretty damn close to what, in my mind, it should look like, making me excited to finally have a definitive modern movie Superman from Hot Toys . . . proper blue suit, proper hair . . . and then this is what happens :gah::gah: So close yet so far!
