He was a likable character in the movie. But I just didn’t really see Barry Allen.

He was more Wally West than Barry Allen to me.

Don't blame Ezra for wanting to play a more serious take on the character. Hopefully there is still room for this and WB aren't just using the Marvel formula for every non Batman movie now.

The takeaway from the mixed reception to the early DCEU movies is that the tone should fit the character. Just because people loved Nolan's dark, gritty take on Batman doesn't mean they wanted a dark, gritty take on Superman, just as the massive success of the lighthearted and fun Aquaman movie didn't mean that same treatment would work for the upcoming Joker standalone.

If they want to go a more lighthearted route with Flash, that's fine, but they shouldn't automatically dismiss a more serious one out of hand just because people didn't like BVS as much as the studio hoped.

Agreed. I may be in the minority, but I thought Whedon kind of made JL more enjoyable for the most part - reminds me of some aspects of the original Avengers film to a certain extent. I think he contributed to the lighter-toned Superman (thank God! I cringed at the moody & confused Supes in BvS) & the interactions between the team members (esp. love that Aquaman & lasso thing), which were what made me really like the film.

The only major letdown on his part I guess was the way he treated the Batman character - though rich as Stark, Bats' character imo is definitely the opposite of Stark;he's mostly moody and not upbeat, while Stark is generally more brash and jovial I guess. Having said that, JL Bats somehow remind me of the JL animated series Bats, who is no stranger to pulling off a smile or crack a joke every once in a while. Whedon definitely could have left out the part where Batman was in awe of Supes saving them from Steppenwolf because that is way, way, wayyy off character. But in general, I can't help but think Whedon would have fleshed the story out a lil' better than what we were given had he been given more time. And they definitely would have been to fix that CGI mess on the reshoots! There's no saving Supes' stache though, but I'd like to think that that's out of Whedon's control.

I think most members here wouldn't agree with me, but personally I think Whedon's "meddling" is the main reason I've watched JL like 10x :lol , while I can only sit through BvS 3 times - mostly because the plot was everywhere and there're too many things going on at once for me to really enjoy it. However, I am eternally grateful for Snyder's visuals, costume designs and casting choices...simply fantastic!

I don't care for the theater release but Whedon was given a next to impossible task, to be fair. He had next to no budget. And he was told to rewrite and reshoot another director's film. Honestly, for me the only thing that works (and just barely) in the theater release is seeing these beloved heroes assembled. I love Zack Snyder's castings for the roles. The chemistry that was there between heroes regardless of story and direction style was what I found appealing.

I'm eager to see the Snyder cut. Snyder has recently confirmed that it exists, and it is 3:34 in length. By definition it is a different film in having almost an entire additional film's worth of footage. I don't think much of what Snyder shot survived into the theater cut. So in the 2:00 of the theater cut it will be interesting to see how much of that is Snyder's versus rewritten/reshot by Whedon.

I enjoyed what Whedon did with The Avengers, although there are some jokes and moments in the film that for me haven't aged well. But anyway, I don't think what WB instructed Whedon to do for JL was either wise or really even feasible.

Anyway, looking forward to SDCC and hoping there will be an announcement of release of the SC.

Looks very good!! Can't wait to add him to the collection.

On the downside that's now Joker, Aquaman, Deathstroke, Flash all having to be paid for in a very short space of time. John Wick will release soon also. Damn you Hot Toys lol.

Looks like a great figure. Not sure after all this time and the seeming 1/2 reboot of DCEU, not sure I need this. But for those who have been waiting, looks like you got a winner here.

Looks fantastic! One of the rare cases where the end product actually looks better than the proto. HT does care about DC afterall!

It has release in HK .. same as aquaman .. but yet not to the international market .. sideshow haven’t even start shipping aquaman yet so let’s said that flash will come out to us in August if we are lucky ..
