...But, for whatever reason, I am not crazy about the new look. I don't hate it, I just can't envision that next to the classic outfit of Superman. :dunno

It's like they were trying too hard. It's an improvement but it could use some tweaking. Unless the movie changes my mind or the head sculpt is jaw dropping, I plan on waiting for the sequel version.

I think the colors maybe are a bit on the dark side which throws the suit off a bit for me. I also haven't decided how I feel about the scales on the suit. Aside from that I get what they were going for, the Man of Steel look is fairly close to his New 52 look. I think the outfit should have at least had a belt or something. The trunks are a bit dated in the modern era but they kind of separated the suit instead of making it look like he's wearing a big onesie.

Overall though like I said before I have a lot of faith in this movie and think that Nolan/Goyer/Snyder are going to give us a great new take on Superman.

They aren't scales. The top layer is a mesh (which I believe is the blue) and the under layer is a silver metallic suit that was molded from Henry's own muscles.

I think the designs around his waist/ribs do break up the suit. I think they could have simplified it a bit by just giving him something closer to a proper belt, but I think it works as is.

:goodpost: From what I read, the Superman suit is actually the garment they wear under their Kryptonian Armor. But Kal is invincible on earth so he sees no reason for the rest of the armor. Even on the new movie masters, Zod w/o the armor has the same mesh feel and look. I think that is actually kind of cool. It reminds me of Superman Earth One, where Ma Kent explains why he must never where a mask when he's doing Superman things.

The suit detail is like stylised chain mail. But only half the detail is shown.
You can still see that the way it catches the light it looks like intermeshed circular chain links do.

Long johns for the win:yess: I love the look of this suit. But I am that person who can't stand all 5 movies before this one. My daughter loves those movies but about craps her pants when she sees anything for this movie. I can't wait to see a superman that can kick ***, and Russell Crowe looks bad ***. That's the HT I really can't vwait for.

The new suit will translate into a MAGIC looking figure. :exactly:

Cavill & the suit are a win - it works well. I'm pretty old school with a lot of things, but when a design succeeds in both breaking a little new ground & retaining the classic elements.. what's not to like? :rock

:goodpost:I agree with everything you're saying, man.

Let's hope they do a DX12 with it and mange to both announce it and release it within the same year.

It can be done, Hot Toys. :cuckoo:
It can be done.

Sideshow totally posted on Facebook about MoS and then I followed the link and it was the ****ty play arts...:slap

The only positive about the play arts is seeing Zod fully armored up and thinking how awesome that'll be as an HT figure.

We probably will, but I'm sure we'll have, at the very least, Supes or a teaser by the time the movie hits.
