Yeah, I joined the mgs forums to talk shiz but damn that place is boring.
Since the series is basically dead aside from spinoffs it's to be expected.
I ran a MGS site a few years ago but I gave up on it.
Mgs 5 isn't a spin off just rising is not sure about dried up either if it was why is all this memorabilia coming out there must be a lot of demand for it for them to keep making it

It's a spin off in my eyes since it does not change the plot of any of the future games. MGS4 should not of been the absolute end of the story, or it shouldn't of been made yet.
All the Big Boss games other than MGS3 have no bearing on the story.
right. i look at mgs5 as describing some loop holes in the back story (or at least i assume) so not sure how its a spinoff. wouldnt they (mgs3, pw and mgs5) have a bearing on mg1&2? that would make it easier for them to do remakes of the 2 imo. let me know if im wrong. from there wed be getting closer to mgs1 territory. i may have my dates and orders incorrect. please dont blast me figuring ignorance. keep it cool.
I'm not blasting you at all. But if you look at MGS4 for what it is, you can removed MPO, PW and most likely GZ from the series and it doesn't change what happens.
Peace Walker was the biggest bust in the series storywise, as bad as the plot was it doesn't really change anything in the universe. Nothing moves forward with that story. People hate MPO but at least it showed where BB went after Snake Eater.
I do hope that all these prequels spill into MG1-2 remakes since they extremely need to be redone with today's tech and plus we can see Snake as a rookie and all the fanboys will be happy to see Big Boss again.

i agree with you and never getting the chance to play any of the psp mgs titles i dont have any arguement. and man youre pretty cool i wouldnt think youd blast me but when im about to say something that may be shakey i prepare myself for it that way.

You didn't do anything that needed to be blasted Jason. I hold MGS very dear to me but you never said anything that upset me so don't worry about it.
The PSP games weren't really needed and they should of just stayed on the console. They lack the atmosphere which was on the console versions.
A lot of people hate Portable Ops but it at least had a cohesive story unlike Peace Walker which was mind numbingly bad with Kaz and Paz.
Although, gameplay in PW truly was a step up in the series and was a lot of gun. But the AI was terrible in it.

Don't you mean MSX instead of Nintendo? The Nintendo is a crappy American remake. I played both and the MSX version is better.

he didnt **** on them he just said they didnt do anything to help the story. i thought peacewalker was awesome. i didnt care for the story nearly as much as the other games in the series. which he also stated.

Exactly, Peace Walker was a blast to play but the story was paper thin and useless to the MGSverse.
IMO peacewalker is hard to get though everytime I play it I get bored.
i felt that way too only because of the damn menu system i HATED it. the actual game was great. i wish the game stopped while going through your inventory. i died at the last second trying to swap back and forth a couple of times.
