I got my first one from ebay a few weeks ago (3-4?) because I couldn't wait for them to hit the US.

My other two just came in on Monday, I bought those from toys2. It depends on the store.

The reason I got my first one so early is because I pussied out and bought it from a seller from asia, Hong Kong to be exact.

nice, is this usually the case with these figures that the U.S. gets them later than the rest of the nations?

Yes, overseas gets them quickest because they're closer to HT's factories and get quicker delivery. It takes weeks for the boats to get to the U.S.

from josh at AE

We're expecting them in the next 7-10 business days. If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Due to deadlines I haven't had the time to really mess about with this figure properly but I did have a few mins last night and he's tonnes of fun with all his stuff.

Theres normally a few on ebay that are released a month or so before the rest actually ship. These early release figs are via hot toys actual shop or something like that and their limited in number.

are the early release ones any different from the rest? do they have like a limited edition number stamped on them

oh okay cool thanks crimson, I thought these would be some kind of limited edition collector's set.

yup it's like with kicks I know a couple of peeps who wait two days straight on line to be the first to get them then post pics of them on forums or flip them for profit on Ebay.

Yeah i paid a bit extra for my early release figs but nothing major, and they were still a bit cheaper than buying retail over here.

Just did a bunch of piecemeal buying on eBay and Toy Anxiety. When you total up how much buying all the little pieces comes to, you really get an appreciation for the value that the actual figure is.

Well, yes and no. While you can end up paying nearly the full figure price to get parts, that's not because they're worth that much, people that sell parted out figures inflate individual items because they're hoping to get the most money and if some things don't sell, charging more for others and getting it can cut your losses.

I saw an eBay auction for $15 plus shipping to get the T-1000 stand, my ass that stand is worth that much, it's just a little plastic thing, there's nothing to it, and it's a standard design used over and over.

Buying figure parts is a lot like fixing your car, it costs more to put it all together after the fact than it does just to make in it's original packaged form, it's insane.

That's why I'm buying 3 full T-1000 figures to make mine, I'll have parts left I can either bash into something, or sell off, but to get just 1 or 2 in order to make 4 unique figures just isn't cost effective with the needed parts.

Unless you're looking for one or mabye 2 pieces of a figure set and they're something besides the head or body, it's not very cost effective to buy parts.

That's true as well, although what I paid at least wasn't the insane aftermarket prices, just moderately marked up from what I could tell.

I wasn't planning on doing this, and was originally going to buy another TT, belt, and white shirt to make my second figure. But once I saw how good all three heads looked in person, I needed that third body.

I originally planned 4, then when the T1 announcement came and it looked like T2 was over, I was rethinking only 2 so that I wouldn't have more T-1000s than T-800s form T2, but once he arrived and I could really appreciate all the looks, I went back to my original plan. While it could end up that I have more T-1000s, if they don't do BD T-800, I don't care, it'll look cool to have all the various looks going.

Im planning for 2 ATM.

Not sure if I want to get a 3rd, while I do like the battle damaged one I dont have a problem swaping out the split head, and adding the arms.

But I bought 2 for the Regular Cop and Biker Cop versions. If I had a doughnut head I would buy a 3rd set up.

But I do agree with Maulfan, I have been trying to do pricing for parts here and there, and it costs roughly about the same if nto more to buy a new figure. Also that auction for the stand for 15 bucks. . . i checked today and it sold.

Received T1000/Sarah this morning ..the donut head is awesome ..a nice sample of what to expect from this figure:)

Dude, if you love the donut head just wait'll you see the normal clean sculpt in person. Put it this way, its a toy and I find his stare intimidating and uncomfortable. :lol
