Thanks Maulfan, looking forward to your REAL photos of these scenes! Its not a perfect passage through the donut head to see Sarah but that was the best I could get. I'd have preferred if the T-1000s head could have stayed in focus aswell.

Well, he should be out of focus anyway, if you look close at a film still, he is, not too much, but he is. I'm struggling with how much of the foreground his head occupies, I'm trying to get it as close to the movie as I can, where it's like the lens is right behind his head, but it's not working, I'll probably just play for as close as I can get it.

Thanks Endo, yeah with the T-800 I just can't bend the paperclip enough or it just isn't strong enough to hold the 2 sides of the coat as close together as they are in Marfmaster's pic.

Another great example there Endo, looks fantastic. I'm not satisified with mine, the arc of the collar is still too wide, not as bad as 'straight-outta-box' but definitely not as tight as yours and Marfmasters. I'm gonna have to try this again.

With regards to the paperclip trick, I think the issue is also slight inconsistency with the cut and sew of the coat. I'm quite happy with how cloes I got the jacked on my black t-shirt T-800, but the one on my grey t-shirt figure won't close as much. I'm ok with that as I feel a beefier look suits that portion of the film, but it was frustrating at first when I couldn't make them match. I rarely get multiples of a figure so I've never known how inconsistent HT can be or not.

and there was me thinking i was clever a few weeks ago when i got my t800 and immediately thought up the idea of using a paper clip....now i find out that everyone had the same idea!
anyway, i tried a paper clip 1st and that was easy to apply...but it was no where near strong enough.
so then i used something slightly thicker and a LOT stronger...now that was very hard to apply.
and it wouldve been extremely easy to apply if the back of the collar wasnt stitched down.
the only advice i can give you is to find something that has the desired strength(something that is quite hard to bend)
once youve found something, bend it into a "U" shape and "feed" it into the stitch holding the collar down at the back.
now the tricky part is getting it to fit properly into place.
cant really give any tips there, sorry.
once it is properly fitted, squeeze it to get the look you want then trim it down if you have any parts sticking out using a pair of pliers that have a wire cutting function.

if you just want to make it easy, cut the stitch holding the collar at he back(i wouldnt personally recommend this though)

sorry for a long and most likely unhelpful post.

I guess the part of the inconsistence of the sewing on HT´s side does the bigger part of the trick, since you´ll never know how tight it was sewn the few times it was and that you bought one of those especially tight sewn ones that gives you a hard time closing the jacket, or collar enough to sample your desired look, you´re right there Sean.
But I guess this again is a part on personal taste and you just arranged yourself with that, cause you find it fitting. But A-Dev´s part is really annoying and I would´ve found it too, cause I did want it as acurate as it goes too.

But thx, A-Dev I think I nailed it with that but I guess you´ll get something like that too, although I have to admit that I tand, every time before I go to bed before my T-800 and think:"That piece is so damn kick-ass and that wire trick pushed it out even more!"

Awesome, TFG. I did it the same way.
Good to see someone did exactly the same and my technique wasn´t as amateurish as I thought it was.

yep, :hi5:

Nice one mate!
Its quite a tricky mod but its worth it in the end.

LOL I was exactly the same! :hi5:

This figure is going to sell out like crazy isnt it? I am really struggling not to buy a 3rd. . .

I would have said the same of T-800 and it's hung around, but I do think it'll be a big success. It might sell out faster because unlike T-800, we have all the parts to make variations so there'll be more folks buying up multiples.

The problem getting the paperclip in is first bending it into the desired U but then you kind of have to bend the two prongs downwards so as they lie flat against the body - and its so hard to do where they aren't sticking out somewhere.

And Demimatt yes I think T-1000 is going to sell fast. Hes already been and gone with Toys2 and then about 5 more materialised there. Today its down to 4.

yep, its very tricky. i was tempted to cut the stitch at the back just to laugh and say "ha! not so tricky now, are ya?"
but seriously, im glad i didnt.
keep at it mate, it takes a lot of messing about but you'll get there in the end.
just dont do a quiggle and break anything!

Agreed. Im just hoping I can score a second T1000 before the price starts to go up....I still havent received my 1st one yet though:(

Sidekickin´101 goin´on?!^^

But TFG´s right, it´s really tricky, but since all are no moving lethargics I guess you´ll work it out just fine, A-Dev.
We believe in you, buddy.

So how quick will it sell out? still enough time to wait until next month?

Perhaps not. Forbiddenplanet.com still has the T-800. Toys2 had some not that long ago. The T-1000 is back in stock at Toys2.

I'm going to pose mine next to T-800 similar to Galleria scene are there any issues with him holding the gun on his left hand? from photos see mostly right hand grippings thanks

Well then . . . I guess someone is buying a 3rd.
