Also, I'm thinking, if you've been stabbed in the heart you're not able to both pick up and fire a giant alien gun and the still be alive when Fury got there.

I don't think they faked his death, he just didn't die. They brought him back. Maybe he has a "heart" like Tony Stark.

I really don't get that complaint at all. Does everyone really want to see some sort of crazy convoluted DC-style re-emergence from apparent death when a very obvious solution, that is already fairly apparent when you watch Avengers for the first time, is at hand?

KISS, Occam's Razor, etc.

You can certainly think up all the excuses you want on how that idea can work but it's just the matter of fact that it's not such a creative one. If they go by it, then hey, what can you do but I just wish they actually sat down and thought of something more robust then "He faked his death. That movie scene was a lie. The End."

the movie scene was a lie...that was the point of it. everyone but fury knew and he used it as motivation to get the avengers to come back together as a team with a new focus.

Maria Hill even brings up the fact there is no way fury could have gotten the cards off Coulson's body, that they where in his locker...then fury goes off on his motivation speech.

the pieces where already all there.

No, the point was he wasn't carrying the cards on him, they were in his locker, so Fury went and got them, dipped them in blood, and then used them to sway the Avengers. So it still doesn't tell us he was really dead or not.

:lecture Him dying wasn't the lie, the cards were. This is just a lazy mock up excuse for the show.

Come on Marvel..:slap What a joke..

So Nick Fury was on his knee by his side when he died because he knew it was fake. It's funny because no one was there when he died besides them two. They could have come up with something better.

oh, come on that is complete bull*****.

really? The story goes nowhere if you keep him alive. what's the point in doing that?

i know. im saying the whole scene was a lie to begin with. so saying his death was a lie making the scene invalid is silly. its not invalid, its just changing the focus off his death to the lie.

the lie was always present in some form. fury is an ******* who uses people to get what he needs. :lol

anywho, we still don't know much else other then he is alive and it was covered up. they could go all coo coo coco puffs on us and actually do this life model decoy things people loved the idea now or they could just fix the guy up with some crazy alien thing-a-mahjig and call it a day.

But he stabbed him right in the heart?! :rotfl :gah:

:lecture

He just pulled the trigger and muttered something.
I think you can do that for a minute after you start slowly losing gallons of blood. :lol

If that's true, then it really is pretty lame that they couldn't come up with something more creative.

You can certainly think up all the excuses you want on how that idea can work but it's just the matter of fact that it's not such a creative one.

Sorry, it's just too lazy and predictable for my tastes. Surely, there is a middle ground between that and Zero Hour or whatever.

:exactly:

well I like this idea better than the whole show just being a prequel to Avengers.

:goodpost: Now that you mentioned it, this is better than a prequel thing.

Yeah.. oh well :lol

But they still have to explain how Loki didn't kill him, unless Loki was in on it :lol

:lol Fangirls would go crazy!

isn't it obvious that it maybe the Coulson that we're getting in the show is an LMD or maybe the LMD was the one that Loki stabbed. What if the Destroyer gun wasn't the only thing Coulson took from that Level 5 locker.
