New figure is better tech wise. Still pretty different but they shouldn't touch old design, it was perfect.

When you say 'they shouldn't touch' - which 'they' are you referring to? Cuz if it's Hot Toys then it's not really their fault, they are making a figure of a character from the movie who is wearing a costume that is intentionally similar to the original suit

All he has is the shield, no other accessories ? I think TFA suit design was a little more intricate than this one. They should have included an extra head sculpt.

I don't know what's going on at Hot Toys, but to me, their last few figure reveals have been pretty meh. This Cap, BW, Loki from DW, The Wolverine, Bruce Banner, and Rose Hills Tony have not impressed so far.

Hottoys figure never be bad....but easy skip. Gonna wait the simple blue with star costume

It is a nice version.
And there are no large parts carried over from TFA version at all with the exception of the gauntlets/gloved hands and the boots.
The entire figure is all totally different, even though it looks similar to people who have not much of an idea what the other one looked like.
If it comes out to the masses, i will likely only pick up the head and shield unless it stagnates.

I don't mind not as many accessories(as long as price isn't outrageous of course). To me, the suit looks grittier when comparing both picks and the third stripe, for whatever reason, just hits me a little better than the two from TFA. Having moved all my CA figures to make room for the new guys(and gals) from upcoming films, this ones on my grab list.

Can't say im too impressed with this one, sculpt hasn't impressed me, hopefully the price reflects what little he comes with but i don't see that happening anytime soon.

IMO the figure looks okay, but not as good as I was expecting it to be, as I thoughyt that it would warrant a purchase even if you have the TFA version. I wanted both this and the stealth uniform but can only afford one at the moment. This reveal made the decision easier for me

Im not really liking how the sleeve connects to the suit here. It kinda reminds me of a Halloween costume, you know like how they try to make a costume look like it has layers but its really just a shirt. The smartest thing HT did was finally giving us a diecast shield. No more paint flaking

Wow, hardly an improvement over the older version. I don't even feel like a need this one... I was ready to hate my self for feeling like I must own it, but thankfully, I don't. I'll just keep my First Avenger figure.

They did improve the shield though, you can see the distinction between the matte color and the "vibranium" part. It isn't either all shiny or all dull, like before.

Edit: Oh, its a diecast shield? That's nice.

All I did was ask a question regarding your comment specifically surrounding who you were referring to as 'they'

I've seen a few comments on FB about how they are remaking the TFA costume and people seem to think that 'they' shouldn't touch it, as though Hot Toys are milking it

I disagree because Hot Toys aren't milking it, this isn't like producing an alternate colour Iron Man suit that didn't feature in the movie, so I'm not sure why 'they' shouldn't touch it

Not loving the headsculpt at all. Hopefully the production piece is better. Pretty down about this. Im sure the shield suit will be better and with a second sculpt

I've been holding off for a Cap with diecast shield (since the previous ones had paint issues), but the lack of a Steve headsculpt is putting me off this one! The suit and shield look great though, hopefully the Super Soldier-style figure will be awesome.

It's probably been mentioned before, but man, his head looks tiny. After the DX13 I thought HT might actually start producing proper in-scale 1:6 sculpts. Sure doesn't look like that here.
