Got email confirmation this morning from KG. Jawa shipped via SpeedPak. Crossing fingers this new shipment method will be as efficient as HK post service and not come with extra import costs.

I never had any issues with Ebay purchases that were sent by SpeedPAK, so hopefully this will be the same.
As for efficiency, Zorro landed in the UK this morning. SpeedPAK Standard delivery has an estimate of 8-12 business days, and this has only taken 6 business days so far in spite of Covid 19.
Hong Kong had begun to feel like a galaxy far, far away. Now it feels a lot closer.
Haven't had the shipping notification yet for the Jawa though.

Virtual Devil's Jawa and Gonk review is up.
It looks a little better here but not much. Most of the issues I have with it are still present but the material quality and beltwork/accessories come off better on his video. The stands still look lame as heck and the gonk looks very toylke and cheap.
However, the still most unforgivable feature with the jawa is the worst light-up feature ever ever put into a figure! THE MAIN FEATURE OF THE JAWA's APPEARANCE DOESN'T WORK!!!!! It looks like a single weak light source is used for both eyes and is not effective.
Did anyone at HT even LOOK at the production version of this before the switch was thrown?

Yes, and their solution was to distance the Hot Toys name by redesigning the base so it looks like a third party knock-off. I’m surprised they didn’t remove the Hot Toys logo from the packaging as well.
Those flimsy and cheaply made brown display base covers look like muffins made of poop...

I wonder if the stand coco made for the ss Jawas will work with this? Maybe a Jawa and gonk stand? I have his ss Jawa stand and it is excellent. Any thoughts coco?

So far I’ve used the Droid stand style like the one in the pic for the Jawa/Gonk combo. There’s a member here who has one on the way and will hopefully post pics. I don’t have the set in hand yet to use in a photo so I’m not really sure of the Gonk size and what other style stand would work.

What really ruins this for me is the eyes. Do you think its possible to mod them, is there a way to open the head?

I love the HT fabric texture and hood shape - MUCH better than SSC - but overall I just think the SSC versions capture the onscreen Jawas a bit better.
But when he reveals that floppy, crappy SSC body though...
I would say at this point the HT eyes are a total fail though. Just... what were they thinking? A Jawa fig lives or dies on those light-up eyes (and also how they appear unlit, which the SSC version handles better also.)
Even though I still kinda like the HT robe color (mostly for plastic cape Jawa vibes) it's strange that the inner robe of the HT Jawa is much closer to screen accurate - almost like the outer robe was supposed to be darker but the ordered outer robe fabric was dleivered lighter than expected but they had to use it. I mean you'd think the inner and outer robes would roughly match when it's not meant to be starkly different.
