Just saw First Class and absolutely loved it! Especially Loved the performance of Magneto but didn't like his outfit at the end....yuck

completely badass. best X-men yet. Perfect amount of fan-wank.

its ashame they can't really follow this up well (with the same actors)

Yeah, funny that Fassbender's two most memorable movie scenes so far take place in bars. Maybe that'll be a running gag, and he'll have awesome bar scenes in every movie he's in.

The one with the pig farmer and the tailor? Yeah that scene was awesome. In fact almost every scene with Magneto was great!

Well McAvoy and Fassbender already said that they're game for another one if the fans want it enough (which I think is an obvious "yes"). Of course that's not anywhere near a guarantee of another one but there have been talks of it for sure. In the next one we could see the introduction of Cyclops and Jean, and maybe we could get another chance to have Gambit in there

Slim chance of happening (pun intended). Vaughn said if he was heading a sequel then (which he will no doubt if they push on for a sequel) then he would only introduce one new character.

I think that would be a good move because we can go on to focus on the relationships between these characters and understand them more, maybe with the reveal of a new team at the end.

I think that a Krakoa-esque storyline would work best to introduce a whole new team.

I'm not really interested in using First Class sequels to introduce Scott, Jean and Storm because they would fast forward through a significant amount of time to do that (I don't mind them showing up near the end of a trilogy, but we shouldn't lose the FC story to get to them). I would rather see more on the First Class team and what happens with them, and especially more Xavier and Magneto in their young years.

Don't want them to age the characters that fast and skip over details just to get to the standard X-Men characters. We had films with them, and it sounds like we might get more.

I agree that they should stick with whatever the creative team has in mind. This movie worked out so well, that there's no need to start shaking things up when they don't need it. Maybe play out a couple of sequels, then reboot the franchise completely somehow. Preferably going with the Wein/Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne crew. That's the X-Men I ultimately want to see on the screen.

Both Singer and Vaughn said that they don't want to age the character too fast but that at it's end the last film would naturally tie into the first. What that means whether we'll get introduced to Scott, Ororo and Jean in the third as young teenagers or whether it'll end to the point where it would naturally be assumed they were there is anyone's guess. It sounds like Singer has a plan for three and Vaughn definitely at least two. I read interviews where they said it'd be fun to see these characters in the 70s or even 80s and dealing with the turmoil in those times.

They already showed Scott Jean and storm in first class, so in my mind its already a reboot, maybe they'll use time travel to bring them all into the future to keep continuity, but that's the only way to do it unless its a reboot

However, we know Scott hasn't been born yet, and I doubt Jean or Storm are that much older than he is. They're not alive in FC.
Storm looked at least pre-teen, and Scott looked about 10-12.There's no way they exist yet in FC - unless Xavier saw future mutants as well as the current ones.

Scott and Ororo definitely, the people involved with the film admitted to that but no one said anything about Jean, there is a young girl who has reddish hair but I'm not sure you could make a case either way. Regardless, given that the group in X1 was supposed to be in their early 30s/late 20s, the ages in FC wouldn't match up anyway but I have a feeling that they'll simply fudge their way around it.

They should these kids but no character actually said it was them it was a nod to the fanboy so I wouldn't be shocked if in the third we meet a young group that is supposed to be the main team in X1.

I would love to see an all out nuclear war (wasn't supposed to happen) and the cable coming back to help the xmen corecy it, then they end up 30 years into the future of the corrected timeline, problem solved lol
