Re: shield paint peeling off, I've seen the pics. It dulls down it down a bit but I coated mine with a satin coat - never has peeled or anything.....also makes it look closer to the movie sheen...

Hmmm I might try that actually as mine is just starting to flake now.

What exactly is a satin coat? Is it just a clear paint?

Seriously though, it's just a coat of flat clear paint.

So from what it sounds like, applying a top coat will prevent the shield from flaking.

Anyone here used a gloss or semi-gloss topcoat on their cap's shield? I want to keep mmine as original (so candy gloss looking) as possible.

Not sure. When I used a clear gloss the paint on the shield ran so had to strip it. I am thinking of using a White and Red to make the shield look like the comics version. I tried on a new shield with the semi gloss and had no issues.

Remember to post pictures if you do decide to go for the comic version. :wink1:

I will definetly post pics if I can get the shield painted right. I haven't used my air brush in a while so I am rusty. The nice thing is at least the shield is easy to clean for a fresh start if I mess up.

I did the best I could for now, not exactly as the photo but I'm happy with it. I agree that the body articulation is pretty rigid/tight like the Rescue version. A different body would make it a lot easier. Cheers, and thanks for the help!

The costume will do it easily enough.
But the body might not.
Mine gets into that pose, but my Cap was rebuilt with a more poseable truetype inside.
Makes it easier for him to do other poses.

User. Is that an all silver shield on the Cap in the background? How did you do that and can we see some more pics of it?

Can a ttm 20 body fit in any of these uniforms?

No.
The Cap body isn't as muscular as a TTM20 and even the Cap body barely fits in there.

It's a TFA shield that flaked, so i took a cloth covered with acetone to it.
Melted all the paint except the chroming, which was left fully intact.
Here are some images.
If you want more, just PM me. It's still like that on the shelf, so i can take any pics you want of it.
