Kinda glad it didn't already come in, especially just before Christmas. Now it'll have all the attention it deserves when it comes in. Soon. Very soon. Like in the next week or two.

The prototype had Evans' V-shape and muscle tone. The final product is as narrow as Tobey Maguire Spider Man. Some people thought it was the tailoring or the padding underneath.

It is the padding underneath and poor tailoring of the vest that is responsible for lack of the V shape. Here are a few pics I took of mine on a standard true type body, as you can see when the suit is pulled tight against the body it creates the V shape.

The real problem is that Hot Toys needed to make a body specifically for this figure to match Evans' size. Instead they used a stock body to save money and gave us a big-headed, malnourished Stealth Cap.

Personally I think it is the same body as the proto and the tailoring is the main problem as to why it doesn't look like the proto, however maybe you are right about the shoulders being more broad on the proto.:dunno

The mod that was done by Clipperking was to remove a white under shirt. It does NOT change the appearance, which to me is a plus. Some figures, like the Batman West figure the undershirt adds to the shape of the figure and removing it makes it worse.

You are right, removing the fat suit will not dramatically change the appearance of the figure because the the vest is too big and thus, doesn't hug the body creating the V shape. So the shape of the torso still looks straight to a certain extent. Nonetheless, there is no way to create that V shape of the torso with the fat suit on, so it does prevent the shape of the torso from having that V shape. Therefore, the only way to create that V shape of the torso is to remove the fat suit and make the vest fit tighter against the body.

Removing the undershirt on Cap, however, adds about 15 to 25% angle articulation to the shoulders. I pose my Cap on dynamic poses so I really like the added articulation. Pllus to do the mod is fairly easy and no damage is done whatsoever to the suit, except for the undershirt. The kind of mod I like the best.

I hope Clipperking doesn't mind but I'll just add a link to his video.

I believe the improvement in articulation has to do with removing the black padding in the arms, which Clipper King must have done, since the white fat suit does not cover the arms, just the torso and the arms on his figure look very skinny.

Did you try leaving the chest portion of the fat suit on at all? Really curious if that adds to the look once you get that v shape with the tighter suit. Though I hazard a guess the tailoring is just too stiff in the chest to even affect it.

no i didnt remove any padding from the arms , i didnt know how to get down to the arms because i couldnt remove the outta vest to get down to the rubbised under shirt

Think I'm going to cancel this one. No room for it in my collection really since I plan on getting the AoU version and don't really have any interest in civilian Cap. Probably shouldn't have ordered it to begin with. :lol

Congrats to those of you who are going to be getting this. Sounds like you'll have it soon.

I'm having some reservations but I guess we'll see when I have it in hand. I'm seriously going to need a detolf soon. lol

This belongs in my collection. But given the past few months, I feel like I should wait for double rewards or free shipping or some perk, especially due to the issues of the figure... Do you guys think it will go to waitlist or sell out before any deal is offered?

Doesn't seem like the demand is through the roof for this one. Worse case scenario, if it gets waitlisted, you could just jump on the waitlist immediately. Almost 100% guaranteed to get a conversion at that point.

No I haven't as I am still pondering over what is the best option to mod this figure, but I will probably end up doing your method, since the vest is so big, there really needs to be a lot of padding there in order for the top portion of the vest to fit tight against the upper portion of the torso. Nevertheless, the vest needs to be tighter on the body/torso overall and not just the chest muscles to change the look of the torso and unfortunately, the vest is just simply not tight enough (without the fat suit) to hug the entire torso , which is essential for creating the V shape look. :(

[Though I hazard a guess the tailoring is just too stiff in the chest to even affect it.

:exactly:

In order for me to pull the vest tight against the body to maintain that V shape look on that standard body, I had to use a clothes line peg to hold it, since the vest is very stiff like you said and thus, not very malleable. This explains why the torso still maintains it's straight shape even without the fat suit because the vest is not only tailored poorly but is too stiff to maintain the correct shape of the torso.

Hmm I was afraid you were going to say that. :slap

I guess where the shoulder joint is covered by the fat suit is the reason for the lack of articulation.

Now I am worried because his arms look very skinny in comparison to the body on your mod just like the product does. :thud:

It seems the look of this figure can not be fixed because the over-sized stiff vest makes his arms appear like twigs! :gah:

Oh well at least the articulation can be fixed, although I am not big on that factor, it is a good thing for those that are.

Yeah I'm not getting it either, it turned out to be a disappointment. I'll stick with Golden Age Cap, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Falcon for my CA:TWS collection

That doesn't sound like a bad setup at all. You could always get the Steve Rogers head sculpt from the 2-pack down the road, if you wanted to swap out the questionable head on GA cap. That HS alone might be pretty pricey though with it being the highlight (in my opinion) of this set.

Yeah its the best thing about the set, I was actually thinking of getting the set and then selling the Stealth figure.

Looking at the pictures, i think the AoU suit is going to have the same issues as this one. Hopefully not but it looks like it fits the same.
