Is the head sculpt on this set the same as the Age of Ultron Cap? Sorry if this question has been asked before!
As I said, it is not a big enough difference to bother ME. Obviously, that is in the eye of the beholder (well, I thought that was obvious).
This is not a matter of debate - I am not trying to tell you that YOU should be ok with the difference, just please grant the same courtesy to those who disagree with your weighting of the difference.
In terms of figures not matching the prototypes, take a look at just recent figures, all of which had big complaints about difference with the prototype::
-Wolverine from the latest movie of that name ,
-Golden Age Cap (yeesh, that expression),
-CA:TWS Black Widow
Golden Age Cap was bad enough that I skipped it.
One other point - I agree that the proportions are significantly different than the prototype for Stealth Cap, but I don't have a preference for the prototype's proportions (that V shape that some really want just doesn't matter to me). What does bug me is the reduced articulation - but not enough that I would mod the figure.
To each their own - I know some LIKE the GA Cap, for example - I am happy for them and would not try to convince them that they SHOULD dislike him. (Different discussion if you want to criticize Sideshow for not more closely matching the prototype - little to argue about there.
After seeing the AOU pics I cancelled this set. This one isn't bad but I love the AOU one more and needed to money to pay for Starlord. Also the upper body on this figure has always bothered me and it appears to me that they have fixed it for the AOU figure
I like mod my figure but I would not force or convince other to follow.
Pretty much, but the AoU cap has the eyes looking to the side.
Ah smart move Hot Toys...now you are making me want to order this set to get the eyes looking forward head...!
According to Budget Stark, Hot Toys said it was a totally new head sculpt.
Think he meant newly painted.

I don't think so, as his exact words were that Hot Toys said the AOU sculpts are completely new head sculpts, and he then said that was good that they did that because it is better than reusing old head sculpts.

It's the same mold. Even HT listed in the specs as newly painted and not new a head sculpt. A new head would mean a different mold which according to the prototype and pictures so far shows the same mold as the stealth Cap.
So my understanding is its just newly painted. It looks that way to me anyway.
Hey no argument from me I am just telling you what Budget stark said.
No argument dude. Just saying that is what I think he meant. What about what you think?
I do think the head sculpts are pretty awesome though for AOU Cap but the left sided look is just meh, good for limited poses only. I hate it when they do that to a sculpt. Just seems so unnecesarry.

So, some guy who posts youtube videos says it's different and then it becomes true?
Lol.
It's the same sculpt. Because they got it *right* with the Strike Cap and Steve set.

I believe in the movies the helmet is the same but what is painted silver on the sides is different. There's very little difference between the two in the movies.
