Re: Hot Toys MMS243 - 1/6th scale Captain America & Steve Rogers

I've gotta say after messing around with the figure, I'm still disappointed with it. I can't get over how narrow and bunched up the shoulders look. Even after seeing all the in hand pics I thought it might seem different in person.

I feel like I should've just waited for the AoU Cap now.

You can still wait for that version. Who says if you bought the Strike version you can't get the AOU version?

Caps and Falcon, ready for action!

So I broke my Steve head sculpt :( the neck joint came off when I took out the head. Didn't know I had to swivel it to the left before removing. Is it a simple super glue fix or am I SOL?

Wait, do you have pics? Curious to see what happened.

That torso looks really good. I just got the uniform off mine and am planning on putting some rubber bands on to see if that improves the shape. I want to avoid cutting the fat suit since that apparently makes the uniform loose around the waist. Two questions... What's the best thing to use to bulk the chest up? And I'm aware cutting the rubber vest affects the arm sleeves, but there has to be a way to get rid of the bunched up shoulder look.

My sleeves were ruined as i cut two lines along the armpit of the blue rubber innersuit. But it enables both arms to rest naturally along the sides...

The blue rubber innersuit is the main culprit for the arms flare out. I suggest u cut a vertical line at the centre , not the sides.. But i haven try this yet.

I stuffed bubblewraps on the chest, the torso wil look slimer without removing the fat suit..

Yes do not remove the fat suit at any parts of the body, as it makes the uniform looks loose..

You don't have to swivel it any way to remove it.
On each head there is the neck, a pvc collar that has been glued inside, and the neck peg. Normally, on a HT figure it's pretty tight, but with the Steve/Strike helmeted head it's very loose. If you check out the peg, you will see the pvc collar still attached. Pop the neck peg into a half inch of boiling water for a minute or two.
Drain off the water and dry off the peg, and the pvc collar will be warm and soft. Take it off the peg and put it into place on the neck(After first running a small line of super glue around the inside of the neck ridge). Then(If you don't own a bottle of zip kicker), just leave the head somewhere warm for the superglue to cure, maybe overnight. Next day, boil the kettle and stick the bottom half inch of the neck into a cup of boiling water for a minute(Only the bottom will be neccesary). Then take it out, shake off the water(And pad it dry), before pushing the plug into place. Then, as a precaution, use a rubber band around the bottom of the neck(Where it meets the neck plug), and wrap it around and double it over a few times to make sure it's tight. Then put your head in the fridge to cool down. In ten minutes, take it out and remove the rubber band. The neck will be tight again. Superglue is not perfect, so if it happens again, just repeat this process.

I'll post pics when I get home and thanks username for the tip!! Glad to know I wasn't being too hard on my Caps

Most necked figures have a very tight neck joint. If it wobbles, it can pop out.
You can also put in a bit of epoxy under the lip of the plastic part before re-seating it if you want it to never wobble again.

I know the feeling, I just have them deliver to my work already just to save the frustration:lol

They usually just leave it at my door but this time they needed my signature. It said on the ticket that you can sign it and theyll leave it at your door but it had to be signed "in person". Third time was the charm. Perhaps with the thievery over the Xmas season made them enforce signing in person more.

You're lucky They never leave it at my door. That's why I arrange it so that can pick it up
