Thanks for posting those pics. I've been wondering what that would look like. I prefer the 1st Avengers helmet version. But the problem is, as you pointed out as it wasn't made for the Ragnarok version, it looks odd since it's sitting so high on his head. I bought a parted out helmet long ago too in hopes to do the same thing. But still haven't gotten a Loki yet.

I even bought a parted out Gungnir from Odin waaay back to give Loki as well.

I hope you get a Loki soon. This one is great and he actually looks significantly better in person than in most pictures.

Yeah the fit of the Avengers 1 helmet in this Loki isn’t great. However I think I was a bit afraid of scratching/scuffing the headsculpt so I didn’t push the helmet down as low as it could go. Here is a picture I took that had the helmet pulled down lower ...

IMO not bad. U could try warming helmet a lot and let cool on sculpt to improve fit. The HT helmet has thin padding to prevent scratching u could add that to other helmet.

That is a great idea Sassafras!
I thought about applying some heat to the helmet particularly because the area near his right cheek sticks out a bit more than the other side. I'm just not sure what type of heating element to use. But yes if I could get the fit correct it would then be easier to figure out which of this helmets I prefer on him.

Also as Hoody999 mentioned (thanks for commenting) the detail and paint application on the new helmet is spectacular and is much better than the paint job I did in my garage on the Avengers 1 helmet. I guess I can maybe add another coat of paint :)

Add me to the list of folks who slipped in and got this. I just started with the MCU stuff, focused on Infinity War and End Game and figure this might be the last Loki we see for quite some time. Glad to grab it and was also pleased to continue the streak of $25 coupon codes coming via email after an order. I think I've been ordering one figure at a time for the past week, with a $25 code each time. :yess:

Congratulations, it is a really great figure!
I have been collecting these figures for about three years now, I have almost exclusively MCU figures with the exception of Arkham Knight Batman and Arkham Knight Red Hood. IMO Hot toys has done a great job with their Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy figures (except Drax). I hope you enjoy your growing MCU collection!

Thanks! It's pretty exciting, considering Star Wars went into somewhat of a deep freeze, it's nice to have something as awesome as IW and EG to pick up the slack. Here I thought I was going to save some money! LOL.

A lot of folks use blow dryers but I have this small desktop "personal heater/fan" (if you get one get a better model as a lot of these are made in China and get one u can switch to fan only) and just hold a plastic part close to heater (exactly what heater instructions tell you NOT to do) and warm everything up. Use long forceps or chopsticks or bamboo skewers etc. so your fingers don't burn.

Very hot water works too; I carefully dry part and work with it before it cools.

Even using cloth medical tape too IMO is enough padding on the KO helmet to prevent scratching.

I used to be nervous warming stuff but found out pretty fast all this ecologically incorrect plastic:( seems to be pretty tough - I think a lot of this stuff literally would have to be set on fire for any real damage to happen. U can always re-paint too, or use paint pens to touch up.

Good luck! I like both helmets tho I suppose the full helmet reminds me of the cool scene of Loki walking out of the museum in Avengers 1, in full glory:cool:

For fun re-post, 'coz this is one of my MCU guys. Yep. Awesome Tom Hiddleston:cool:

Congrats! I double-checked my Loki #1 last night and yep. This is a beautiful fig, great sculpt:clap - just guessing but feels like the product pics were trying too hard to make him smouldery and badass or something - weirdly maybe this is one of those times when the end product is IMO actually better than the "professional" photos. :dunno

Weird!

LOL saving money. Yep. I was winding down. Pay off Loki (not like I haven't waited 2 years or so since Ragnarok); get the Buckys in, and then - we'll see. Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!:lol

Re SW, since to me SW is overwhelming - well, had priorities. But now the badass Mandelorian is rolling out on TV in November I guess. Along with Disney TV MCU. Saving money is a joke this year :gah:

Low stock remaining. Just placed an order!

I think you'll be happy - I dunno, I'd gone through all the IW Cap angst and I had been paying on this Loki for SO LONG:google - and it was like, it took me about 1/2 hour of looking him over, putting bright light on him etc. before it sinks in "hey, this is a friggin' beautiful fig!!!! I'm really happy! And I've got the Roadworn Thor skull but this one is cool too! He's AWESOME!"

I’ve always wanted a Loki with the helmet and love that he has the tesseract. Should be good. The likeness might not be 100% but a lot of figures are like that anymore. No denying that it’s Loki!

I love this Loki.

As much as I adore my AV Loki, the helmet always scared me a little, as I was afraid to scratch or damage the head or break the helmet. :lol That's the thing about the Ragnarok helmet design I love - it made it easier to display on the figure. (Though my favorite Loki helmet design is still the first film's)

I also dig the streamline look on this figure - it's streamlined, but it somehow doesn't look plain (which was my issue with TDW Loki). It's a nice contrast to my AV Loki. Love them both.

Wow that is a fantastic idea Sassafras, I think I will try that.
This morning I tried to heat the AV1 helmet on the radiator in my office. It softened up quite a bit and I out it on Loki. It did improve the fit but I think it would be better if I used the technique you suggested above. This is how it looked this morning ...

Looks really good now In my opinion. I honestly do prefer the Ragnarok helmet on the Ragnarok Loki (imagine that :lol) but I can definitely understand people wanting to recreate his A1 look. I loved. Loki in Avengers so much that I bought the “undercover” clothes that came with the “cane” and scarf and Kitbashed him in that look.

Regarding the means of softening up plastics for modding, repairs, etc. all I got to say is MAKITA HEAT GUN! Sure there are less expensive ways to heat up these plastics but they aren’t going to be as direct and adjustable as the Makita! Over my years of collecting and modding, I quickly discovered that there are many different types of plastics used where some are more forgiving to high heat (like hands) while others can melt quickly into sludge (like an IM face plate). Also, a bowl of cold water or a nearby running water faucet is tremendously helpful!

Loving the Lokis!

Thanks for the input blinguskahn, I appreciate it!

I really like the Ragnarok helmet a lot also, I love the details, color, and overall design of it. I guess I am just trying to figure out which helmet creates a more "representative" Loki look.

That Makita Heat Gun definitely sounds like a good option if I am going to be doing more stuff like this. I am not sure I trust myself enough to do elaborate alterations. That said about six months ago I "modified" the back of my Thor (DW) head so that he could wear his helmet from a previous movie ...it turned out great.

Btw: if you have a chance could you post some pics of your "undercover" Loki?

Alright screw it. Pulled the trigger on this one :lol I dig the costume and he's great as a ragnarok or infinity war representation.

He's REALLY nice - IMO it's a great sculpt with the very subtle smirk, and some expression. Great stitching; like Josette sez it's not plain at all, and I'm seriously hoping IW Bucky - who also has angled stitches across the chest - is being done by the same people.

Really detailed hair. pale skin like Hiddleston but a faint color tint at the ears etc. Stands well alone. My one quibble would be the hair limits head articulation but that's my Roadworn Thor too. IMO everything very good quality and carefully done; even love the box art.

Hey, loved him enough to get a second one *greed*. Loki's a big fav of mine - gonna display one with helmet, one without.

BTW decided to re-route Loki #2 to a UPS store and SSC sez UPS charges them $16.50 to re-route in transit so they charged ME. They could've re-routed to a UPS hub for free; but our UPS distribution center isn't the greatest.:(

I like this fig enough to want to keep Loki safe.

Nice, glad to hear he's a worthy inclusion for the collection. Think I'm going helmet on for his pose. I'd like to find a staff as inaccurate as that may be.

Sucks about UPS. I've recently started doing the e-signature thing so I don't have to be there. As last time they dropped it off at some random gas station that happened to be a UPS drop point when I wasn't home...

Yeah. I track my figs - like UPS decided to send ASMUS Thorin to a drop point in a grocery store across town WTF. Then there's the "UPS locker" which NEVER opens and I always have to call. Thing is, the delivery guy just seems to randomly do stuff:mad:

And when IW Bucky ships, *&^% it I will just stay home.

But to be fair, a couple of times when I raised hell w. UPS about a promised "delivery by today" when I FINALLY get to a manager, they worked hard to get my stuff. Sometimes later in the evening, but it got there. It's the drivers especially around holidays get tired or whatever, but I'd been waiting all day!

I'll use Banner's staff it's too iconic for Loki. Short, but still.

PS. Omega - I think that looks great; good job with the helmet!:):clap
