I love the stuff that comes with this! Even the Leia hologram stuff I think is usable in the right display if strategically positioned in the right light. The scale of the plug in light is unfortunate. Also a bit of a shame no drink tray, but I guess that is what the Sideshow is for

Yep, it has its purpose.

The release of this just makes me want the HT 3PO companion piece all the more. I do hope they plan to reveal it before year's end.

He's much cleaner than I thought against that TFA one.

That difference in cleanliness surprised me too. Thought this version would also be as dirty.

But it's OK I'll have both this and the Ep7 version, so can put the newer looking one with C3PO and the dirtier "BD" version with buddy X-Wing Luke.

3PO has to be coming next year I would think. Odd that such a prominent, long lasting character still has no HT figure. I will buy it but I have the Tamashii so I personally don't urgently want it as I'm sure some do. Plus he has never been a favorite character of mine.

Yeah as nice as my Tama 3PO looks, I think I'm definitely ready now for the more weathered, diecast, fully articulated HT version that will be a lot more fun to pose.

What sucks is 3P0 will come with a base and plaque and R2 does not. It would be displayed as if two separate companies made them……

Hot Toys has mostly abandoned their old DX mentality when it comes to making nice dio type bases. There are a few exceptions like the recent DX Jack Sparrow but generally their bases are not very aesthetically pleasing. Even the over $400 Iron Man diecast Mark 7 that just dropped today comes with a Terminator redo base from several years ago.

Someday when I have most or all the figures I want(getting there) and hopefully more space I want to make my own dios and dio bases.

Not sure why HT didn?t learn from SSC regarding the holograms. They look nothing like holograms without the light up feature. The SSC Palpatine holo on the other hand looks beautiful also with the light turned off.

Simple solution, offload one of your D-level character Tusken Raiders to pay for a proper A-Level character R2 for them both.

I dunno, I think the hot toys ones look far more like the ones in the film than pretty much anything that’s come before. Toymakers always make them all blue, when in fact they had color.

Got it today, lots of people take better pictures than I ever well, and Justins video is pretty awesome.

All I am gonna say is this, if you are on the fence about this, time to grab it, this thing is pretty incredible, and I think it will definitely sell out, as it would be perfect for any OT display, especially if you are looking to have one figure from each film for the main characters.

Considering picking up a second one ...

But I loves me some R2.... ordered from SS . I had some reward points to blow anyway, so I got him for about $175.

I don't get the purchase from SS. Yes you have rewards but then you end up paying $30 on shipping.
I was looking into Kylo which has $20 off but then $27 for shipping???

SS is still reasonable for those outside US. Their shipping price does not differ from other US or Asia based stores for me.
