That's awesome! I don't think I'll ever buy another figure from Sideshow again. Their packaging compared to other companies is just terrible.

i love how alterego packs orders, and they don't charge an extra $10 for a 'pack-out.' i bought mine from alterego, but it was shipped directly from sideshow in it's brown shipper (no packing material whatsoever). fortunately, it arrived without being banged up.

Wtf!?!? According to my tracking I got, it said UPS attempted to deliver the figure earlier but said "customer was not availible". I've been home all day and my door is right next to the front door so I would have heard someone walk up.

That sucks man. I really hate when UPS drivers do that. Whenever I order from CSC, I just mark in the memo section that signature confirmation isn't required and they just drop it on the porch.

He's saying that he prefers to buy from other online retailers like Cornerstorecomics that ship the package in a larger outer box. Sideshow just ships the figure in the brown shipper that goes right around the art box unless you request an additional outer box for an additional $10 to the shipping price I believe.

When you request to combine shipping on orders that release close to each other, I don't think they charge extra...

I got my MK VI EX and Bruce Lee EX in one big box for like $17 in shipping.

Maybe I lucked out.

That's strange. I got mine from SSC and it came with an outer box and I didn't pay for the pack-out. No complaints here!

There's ideally three levels of boxing. The figure box (1), which is put into a shipper box (2), put into a larger box (3) with cushioning.

Yup! Sideshow just uses the plain shipper boxes. I bought the Assassin's Creed Ezio figure from them last year, and Battle Suit Jill. The Hot Toys boxes of both figures were damaged. Basically, if you're an MISB collector, or an open-box collector who likes to have everything in mint condition (like myself), Sideshow is not the way to go.

Next time, I'll make sure to order from either Viking Playground or Corner Store Comics. In fact, I used to order from Viking Playground, and their service was phenomenal! No idea why I stopped using them. That's an epic fail on my part.
