Annoying for sure all the non newly designed troopers are on wait list already. I hope the regular troopers come back in stock because I wanted to pick one up. I'm glad I ordered the EX Jedha Patrol Trooper when I did because literally the next morning it was on wait list with the others and now this. Just insane. Even BBTS is sold out.

The R1 Stormie helmet is not more accurate to ANH than the HT ANH Stormie helmet, but if you personally like it that way, no problem, it's your collection and display

The Hot Toys ANH trooper helmet doesn't even look like the 1977 trooper helmet. Hot Toys idealized their ANH and made it too round and bubbly. It looks just like the recent hallmark ornament that was out for this 2016 Holiday season. This Rouge One is off too, but just as accurate as Hot Toys' previous ANH helmet. GMan02 isn't wrong.

Instead of sculpting and idealizing them, Hot Toys should have gotten a scan of the actual 1977 or Rogue One helmets like Hasbro, Disney and Thinkway have done for their figures. The 7" diecast Disney Stormtrooper ANH figurine, the 13" talking Stormtrooper, the Thinkway Toys R Us interactive animatronic Stormtrooper, the 1:1 black series Stormtrooper helmet, etc. all share that same model and are closer to the 1977 helmet than Hot Toys.

The RO helmet design is like the mid-point from ANH - FA. Best design so far.

I know a few things about Stormtrooper helmets. The HT OT Stormtrooper helmet is not perfect, Marmit and especially Gentle Giant mini-bust ones are better. Still it represents the ANH helmet better than any others like HT RO, Sideshow, Attakus or Koto.

The Gentle Giant bust is another great example. I forgot about that one, thanks. It's based on the stunt ANH helmet as well just like the Disney, Hasbro and Thinkway helmets. Probably scanned too knowing Gentle Giant.

I still don't think the Hot Toys ANH is very good. Sure, it's better than the other ones you listed (I think it's debatable that it's better than the RO though, if anything, they both compensate in different areas). But so what? It's still not the best or as good as it should be. It's clearly based off the hero helmets, but it's still too idealized and bubbly. The rounded chin below the mouth where the mouth plate and nozzles are is huge and looks ridiculous. The inaccuracy is even more noticeable when the figure is in a different deco like Gold, bronze, black, red striped or the blue porcelain.

Honestly, I think Hot Toys did a better job with their Sandtrooper.

Where are all the reviews and pictures of this figure? I bought one loose from Hong Kong already so surely there's been some more pictures, right?

I dunno about shady persay but I suspect most / if not all these WL figs come back in stock magically

SS doesn't set the availability numbers. Hot Toys does.

Most likely Hot Toys gives SS a preliminary number, and if pre-orders reach that, SS checks with Hot Toys with regards to increasing availability.

And of course most things come off waitlist at the last minute, because as soon as shipping notices go out, people start canceling and that opens up stock availability.

I think a lot of these RO figures are bound to come back in stock. War Machine III and Drax both went to waitlist for weeks and just recently came back for preorder.

Going back to the old days perhaps, where everything's more limited, lower production numbers? Or are there just more buyers now?

I do like that if it's the case. Makes it better and more limited even if I miss out on an item.

Do we really want these figures to be available to the least amount of people though? The more they produce the more they can keep production costs down, meaning they can stagnate the prices.

It can go both ways because the pieces itself if you think about. Less they make more valueable they are. For some thats big incase of resell value.

If you're buying things just to sell them at a higher cost later, you're in this for the wrong reasons. It might be valid reasoning, but it's still wrong.

There's plenty of people that can't get their hands on these things because it's just not in the budget. When you finally have the money and it's gone, it stings twice as bad to see the same thing you want available elsewhere at a higher cost. Look at what's going with the Leia figures...it's ****** for people who actually enjoy collecting.
