Yeah I maybe should have tried some soap. The material has a sheen so I think the pattern is getting flattened and exposing the shinier part there. Here it is before (not sure if mobile uploads work here anymore).

It looks better either way, spots are more minimal and some of the wrinkles are gone.

I agree. HT should have padded the knees like they do the foreheads with foam or something. Or wrapped him in tissue paper as a buffer.

You’d figure they’d do something like they did with Vader’s cape. Maybe not have the robe separated from the clamshell but at least covered it in plastic for some protection. I bet someone at HT is seeing or hearing about the spotgate and is telling another guy “See?? I told you so!”
Should have mine Thursday... spot free? *fingers crossed*

Looks like more have spots than don't. This is worse than Leia's spotgate because that was only a few. These spots seem to be whether your figure spent a long time face down against the plastic lid or facing up and not touching it. Likely it happened during the 3-weeks on the ship.

Perhaps when the material settles for a few days the impression will lessen and disappear. Hot water might help speed that up in some cases. Since its not a 'stain', soap should have nothing to do with it.

Seems to be excessive pressure from the knees marring the robe. Funny when the lift the robe to show off the details underneath 😳 :lol

I've decided to send mine back - contacted SSC... wait and see what their response is.

It's definitely rubbing from the plastic packaging. Again, it's bizarre that it's only the left knee?? (same on both and can look better or worse in different lighting).
Same EXACT situation for me. I've contacted Sideshow via email & called Monday..they have yet to send me a return label. They wouldn't listen to me (as they always do) and tried to say I wanted an exchange. It's funny though, cause it's never taken longer than a few hours to get that return label. So apparently they're playing hard ball with this one, and I'm not accepting anything less than a return label and full refund.

It will be curious to see if they bother caring....

To me they gave up caring about their customers satisfaction years ago.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. They are definitely from the knees rubbing, which (on mine anyway) the fabric has literally worn away. You can see it is physically thinner on those spots. No amount or water or soap (or hope) is going to make mine any better unfortunately :(

I just received mine from an eBay seller and no spots. Interestingly when I opened him I noticed the outer robe was pulled up off his legs and draped across his body in the package. After reading about the cause of the spots this morning I guess I got really fortunate or the problem was caught and corrected at some point in the packaging process.

Now this is a moment when being an european collector is a benefit. I will get the latest batch, hopefully stain free.

It will be interesting to see if anyone else gets one like that. I may buy a second one eventually.

I should’ve taken a pic. It didn’t register as significant other than being annoyed that my robe was kinda crumpled up. Now I’m grateful. :lol
