It’s actually a nice figure in hand. Nitpicks aside, it’s good enough for the only Lando we probably ever get.
We'll keep Wor-Gar's Lando until the ESB 45th anniversary and sell it to him at a painful nostalgia-bites price. So did I.
I get that. The Han embargo has ruined a lot of collections and the sales of other figures. I feel like the bespin luke 2.0 wasn’t worth it. Nice enough, but felt cheap for some reason.I suppose without a Bespin Han, I don't really have an ESB heroes display... so my interest in Lando is nil. Plus I passed on Luke Bespin 2.0 hoping for the "dirty" version which never came.
Quite honestly, I'd prefer to have an all-Hoth ESB display to represent the movie more than anything else. But that won't happen.
Pajama Luke didn't turn out to be the colossus we'd hoped for. Those damn Bespin dry cleaners.I get that. The Han embargo has ruined a lot of collections and the sales of other figures. I feel like the bespin luke 2.0 wasn’t worth it. Nice enough, but felt cheap for some reason.
The standard and deluxe versions have been sold out on SS for a while but the deluxe w/Sandtrooper is still open. I’m not sure that bodes well for people who are waiting for this to end up on SS’s daily overstock discount list. I’d bet the last version will sell out soon.I wonder what the odds are that the Dewback sits in stock after release and gets a bit of a discount. Kind of what I’m hoping for but also I know with releases now it’s a gamble. The Blurrg for instance though has sat in stock for quite a while.
Didn’t realize they had sold out. Just saw the set with the Sandtrooper. The standard and deluxe versions have been sold out on SS for a while but the deluxe w/Sandtrooper is still open. I didn’t always think that but I caved and preordered the single deluxe Dewie. I’ll pose him with the Sandtrooper I already have.
Walking cycles for both large mammals and reptiles, while slightly different, still have a point in which both feet on the same side of the body are on the ground and close to each other. It's only for a split second, but it happens. Even in your gif of the large alligator, if you watch the legs facing the camera, there's a second where the toes of the hind foot almost touch the back of the front foot before it lifts off.Sorry to bump but I wanted to open up a discussion on the HT Dewback.
I grew up with the OT so I'd love a Dewback in the collection but I just can't pull the trigger on this one. A few things are putting me off but I think it's the legs that are in the wrong positions. Has anyone else noticed?
Now I'm no expert in animal anatomy but I have studied animation so I look closely at movement and distribution of weight etc. The legs positions don't make sense to me. I'd be interested to know what others think. I could be wrong.
I've attached some images below to illustrate my point (sorry I don't know who the Sideshow Dewback image belongs to. I hope you don't mind me using it but it looks great and demonstrates my point).
The Sideshow version of the Dewback looks natural. The alternate legs front to back are in motion, font-right, back-left (just lifting).
The HT version has the front-right and back-right (just lifting) in motion (same side) with the left side feet flat and close together. This doesn't seem right. The Dewback's balance would be off.
Although it's not the same creature I've attached a clip of a gator/croc in a slow walk cycle (alt legs in motion). All these Star Wars creations are based on real world anatomy so it's a safe assumption that it will move in a similar way.
I think that in an effort to be different to the Sideshow version, HT have got it wrong.
The jury is out, in what shall now be known as Lizard-gait.
Thoughts please.

I do see your point about the SS one being more natural looking, Its silhouette is more clear in what it’s doing. The HT one has a perfectly valid passing pose in its walk, it’s just taking smaller steps. It’s not unbalanced because its right foot is pushing mass on to its front left, and its left arm is planted to support that weight.Sorry to bump but I wanted to open up a discussion on the HT Dewback.

Hush LOL. I'm paying on the Dewback only. May be a travesty but with a limited budget so far I haven't been able to get myself to pay out for Stormtroopers and other background characters. I might weaken if there was a great deal for a trooper with a Dewback (I never mind having critters). Seeing as its SW I should have some Storm Troopers - maybe better than the 10$ Hasbro versions I have.I'm still crossing my fingers that this turns out better than their plasticky looking Blurrg...
This is not an OT Dewback - it's the Mando Dewback with a few OT tweaks to a sculpt HT were going to use for Mando to ride. Overall it's a decent match to how the Dewback looked in the Mando episode, which to me was a bit unnatural and CGI looking.Sorry to bump but I wanted to open up a discussion on the HT Dewback.

Crazy times indeed. Hot toys and sideshow won’t be sitting on dead stock anymore. I think they just give it a certain amount of time and figure that is all of the preorders they will get and that’s about the number they make of a certain figure. Remember when the aotc wave one went waitlist at the same time and it seemed like a scam. It wasn’t. They never went back in stock. They cut down the production it really ramped up the exclusives and number of releases. Glad I ordered this and hopefully the Dewback is tweaked to make it more ot.Crazy how the new way of collecting is all figures eventually hitting waitlist before release. View attachment 722499
This is how is used to be before The Force Awakens and all the Marvel movies really blew up. Hot Toys and Sideshow decided to open up pre-orders indefinitely, and what happened was tons and tons of people ordered and then canceled at the last minute, leaving Sideshow sitting on tons of stock that they couldn't sell, but still had to pay Hot Toys for.Crazy how the new way of collecting is all figures eventually hitting waitlist before release.
