Here’s a quick side by side in a Detolf. Lighting is a bit harsh so details are kinda washed out, but hopefully it helps.

Paint apps are definitely better, but was the helmet sculpt tweaked at all for this new release versus the original release?

In some pics it almost seems like it was, but in other pics it looks the same.

I thought the same thing.

If it was ... could be a better resolution on the eye ridges. The first sandtrooper was 'squinty' and either due to the mold or heavy paint apps, the ridges seemed too rounded.

The other thing that may have happened is the eye holes were simply made a bit larger.

If nothing was tweaked it could be an effect of the heavier weathering defining the features better.

Looks like HT planned to have the tail pop off magnetically to make the box smaller but decided to just glue it on in the end. The seam is pretty visible and obvious in some shots but at least its on the back unlike that unseemly seam on the SSC Tauntaun's neck.

Flaws aside, this is awesome. I was on the fence but it looks phenomenal. Keeping my preorder.

Would they ever do a Probe Droid lol???

Unlikely outliers would include Dak, Veers, the medical droids and Han and Luke’s inside looks.

We are down to 2-3 ot figures a year. Last year the only new ot were rotj han and esb Chewbacca. Maybe a snow Chewbacca because it would be a repaint, but I’ve given up on hoping for ot figures. Thankfully sideshow gave me overpriced and questionable quality cantina aliens to keep me poor.
